This whole topic was only figured out 150 years ago almost. Why are we arguing about it and calling on ancient gods in 2021?

Animal suffering, Christianity’s biggest problem.
by pistolpete inhuman life is infused with pain.. but animal life is “define by pain.. animals in the wild are subject to endless torment from all angles of their existence.
wild dogs disembowel their prey, venomous snakes cause slow internal bleeding and paralysis.
crocodiles drown large animals in their jaws.. and animals also suffer from rampant disease, dehydration, and starvation, and have to contend with forest fires and floods, harsh winters and blistering heat.

When You Were A Witness Did You Believe Everything Taught?
by minimus inobviously at some point you stopped believing the witnesses had the truth or else you wouldn’t be here.
.
but for the most part, were you a true believer or were you typically a rebel or a doubter?

One thing that always bothered me. In the new system if I eat an Apple and have to large a bit and choke to death.... will I die or will Jeeblopper miraculously open my esophagus to accommodate it?
See when I was 9 years old I almost died on a piece of lamb. I have PTSD from this. I was seconds away from passing out, which if I had I wouldn't have been able to put my hands down my throat to save myself and pull it out.
Now our so-called loving god created us will a flaw in our breathing/food. in that humans have a descended lyrax.
So in the new system what happens when a person chokes or falls off a cliff by accident, we wont be perfect until the end of the thousand years! Will Jah bring back to life him or her? This was one of my questions.
The other was the carnivore issue. Unlike some on here that imagine a world with all animals vegetarian and the curse of God on animals. (That is an unloving god and F*** him if that be so!) The fact is that animals eat meat and have instincts to do so. So these must come from god so... God is a F***er!)
See the issue?
Despite this all I believed until I read the bible and saw the flood story matched ancient Sumerian texts. Thus I searched evolution if it was probable and found 21000% proof and it was done!

Does the Earth (as a planet) deserve to be colonised by humans?
by fulltimestudent indo humans have the right to live on this planet?
we have, in much less than a century, managed to fill the earth with so much plastic waste that tiny fragments of plastic have been found on the highest mountains and the deepest ocean depths.
not satisfied with doing that, we stupidly continue to do it.

I think this is nonsense. While I am well aware there are plastics in the ocean our technology has increased to the point that we have created microorganisms that eats the plastic away.
As far as world food supply. Get a life! Have you ever worked in a grocery store or a warehouse? Half the cans or stored food are wasted. Fact! The is enough food for probably 50 billion and the world will top at 11 likely. Every one of the eight billion people is a human. A unique person whom I as a fellow human have love for (yes as an atheist/ actually a Daoist) and will defend them for their life.
The problem with food is not the amount of food. It's moronic governments that are in a free for all. (Cough the US cough) :p
Truthfully this idea that were are polluting the world while true has plummeted this last year! Aha! so all it takes is on virus to F*** up our damage! (I saw Manila a haze every day until... April 2020.. now it's clear) Maybe this so-called hardship is a kick in the pants! After 2022 I doubt we will look at pre 2020 the same.

Complexity, Evolutionists Biggest Problem
by Sea Breeze inrecently, some scientists modeled one of the simplest known cells - that of a bacteria.
it took an army of 128 computers running for 10 hours to process the data required in the 25 categories of molecules that are involved in this "simple cells'" life processes.
think about that for a moment - 128 computers running for 10 hours just to compute the data, not actually do it mind you; but just to model the known processes in one of the simplest known cells, which is many orders of magnitude simpler than a human cell.

Sorry t kill this discussion but here is the evidence for evolution:

Refute it!

Wrong. See the issue is a misunderstanding of evolution. The driven force of evolution is reproductive success. What this means is that if I have enough children before I can no longer reproduce, or more likely before my wife can't, then I can send half my genetic material into subsequent generations. Suppose one of those thousand genes enable me to react quicker. Then I'm less likely to die before a car hits me etc. Now let's take this formula to 100,000 years ago. The pre-human would carry his genes and reproductive success would ensure that his genes would carry over to a large amount of children or... his line would go extinct if it was a bad gene. The whole idea of bad mutations is nonsense. Those lines would have died off. Unless we live in the modern era with a new social order.

BTW if complexity means you need a Creator then by that same argument we have infinite regression.tge Creator must be more complex then the life he creates. So using the complexity argument we end up with an infinite amount of more complex creators

You cannot look at any life today over 4 billion years of evolution later and call it simple. The assumption that bacteria is simple is flawed. There is no so called simple life left on earth. This proves evolution.

I scanned this he last few days ad have found little that affects anything. One point disturbing however is this seems to push the Essenes back a bit
BTW the chart of Jeremiah can be explained away as two traditions Hellenistic periods.

This reminds me of a line Morpheus says in the Matrix: "Most of these people are not ready to be unplugged."

Do You Support The Death Penalty ?
by minimus indo you support the death penalty or do you think the worst punishment should be incarceration?.
-
HowTheBibleWasCreated
Let's see death by lethal injection or imprisonment for life? uh... no contest. 90% of people would take death. And it saves tax dollars.
