If Your JW Parent Died Would YOU Go To The Kingdom Hall For The Talk?
by minimus ini would like your thoughts, please..

A very heart to heart thread!! I will possibly soon be attending a JW parent funeral. My father has been a elder well over 40 years. I DA'ed many, many moons ago. I have visited and spoken over the phone to my parents over the years with no shunning applied to me or my siblings(who are DFed). But on my last visit , I wasn't allowed to sleep over, though I was allowed to visit, which I found strange due to sleeping over in the past, even just for a night. My mother stated it was my father's decision. I feel at this time he is doing anything he can to make points with Jehovah before he exits this world. I will go to his services even though it would be held at the KH, because my parents and I kept contact for all those years. Fortunely I have a lot of relatives who are not JWs that will attend ,so that will take my mind off the negative feelings I'm sure to experience there. It ashame to be put in a position like this with your own parents, but this is the cult they chose to stay in and that I decided to escape.

Retired 9 years ago at 48 (Law Enforcement). I feel busy now than when I was working, but it is a busy I enjoy . Living off the Gulf (Tampa Bay area) is quite enjoyable as well. Member of a few clubs and occassionally hit auctions and flea markets keeps me very busy. Wish I could have did this earlier in my life. lol

They continue to drop like flies
by suavojr inyes, the jws continue to bleed their young ones, so far in my local kh 3 were dfd, one girl just turned 18 this month and packed her bags and said goodbye to the cult and her cultish parents, another young 18 year old man decided to have a non-jw girlfriend and decided to stop attending and is no longer a witness.
they continue to leave and wt leaders dont give a damn.
they dont do anything to help kids be successful and live a healthy life.. .

I was 18 when I left and a few months later entered the Armed Services. The BOE at the time had a meeting with me , but couldn't reason with me to return. I told my parents I had only baptized (just turned 14) to make them proud. Almost 40 years later, and still I'm shunned by family and relatives. I'm used to it, but it did take some time. I feel it was the best decision I made in my younger days.I feel for those who left much later in their life or who still remain and can't wait to get out.

JW Literature... Lots of it... what to burn and what to keep?
by ILoveTTATT ini have lots and lots of watchtower literature... and i don't know what could be useful in the future to have as a reference or as a keeper.
i am definitely keeping the 1993 and 1994 bound volumes of the awake!
(no, we are not false prophets... down in the same page, the generation of 1914 will not pass... also the youths who put god the watchtower first).

Interesting, when I was moving ,I had a attic full of Watchtower books . I sold all the Russell,Rutherford, and early Knorr era stuff on ebay. So most the literature I had left was from the late 50's till 2005. The local kingdom hall wasn't interested in it, so I decided to call Brooklyn Bethel at the time. I was told they were only interested in taking in WT literature pre 1930's.

C.T. Russel IS burried UNDER the pyramid
According to none other than Frederick Franz himself, in his own words!
NO matter what Franz said, he's not burried under the pyramid. There are photos of his funeral. He's burried where his head stone suggests.
C.T. Russell is not buried under the Monument as is stated in the Souvenir Notes from the Bible Student’s Convention: Pittsburgh, Pa., January 2-5, 1919, page 7 as follows:
Now let's get to more meaningful discussions
