whats your take? When someone asks my wife what religion she is, she seems embarrassed to say she is a JW.

so thinking back about the times when someone has asked my wife what religion she is.

she sheepishly and seems almost embarrassed to say she is a jehovah witness.

when someone asks me, i just say i am a christian.

here is another example, during Christmas season this year...we saw one of her friends at a store. and we were talking about the holidays and what things were going to do. all of us participating like real people. then her friends says, oh i forgot you don't celebrate. my wife didn't say anything. it was strange....yet she acts like she is super JW.

She must suffer from Cognitive Dissonance more than what i believe she does.

Anyways, do you all ever see this, an active JW... who acts embarrassed to be affiliated with the cult.

if so, why do they do this ?...in there authentic hearts do they know it's all a bunch of bunk?

i occasionally come on this website because i have my eyes on a particular user.

because of that, i end up reading a lot of people's post.

although very interesting and hurt breaking, a lot of them are very strange.

Tigerlove, so here's the deal...i vent about my wife here. because this is the only place i could vent. i treat her with the up most respect and love.

ya, i hate it when she is in cult mode...but when she is not, wow....we have a damn good relationship.

it's kinda like the Notebook...but i compare here cult mode to alzheimers and her normal mode is of course her memories of real life.

plus, our kids are amazing. but, i could kick myself everyday for getting involved with this cult!!!!!!!!!!!

in november i was disfellowshipped for apostasy or in other words, because i live by my conscience and not according to the unloving rules of a human organisation.

details of my story and the judicial committee you find in my older threads.. i am lucky, as the relationship to my parents is the same as before.

now my mother told me what one elder (cobe of the congregation of my ex wife) told one sister.. he met her on the street and talked about my disfellowshipping.

Is the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses really an inferior form of Christianity?

seems to be quite a few posters recently pulling down the beliefs of jw's as not biblical or truly christian.

maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong, i really don't care.. in some important ways though mainstream christians often behave better than jehovah's witnesses; most don't practice shunning or impose lethal medical prohibitions on their members.

many are far more tolerant of the lgbt community and a few even make the awkward attempt to square the fact of evolution with their faith.. please note that i'm saying some, not all.. so i suppose it's fair to say that differing forms of christianity can be better or worse for individuals, families and the wider community.

hi cappytan, my kids are 17 and 12...they both hate going to the meeting and know it b..s.

it won't be long before our older son says no more.

I have brought out the cult personality in my wife and there no turning her back. she is one of those that will not research about the Borg. she accepts new light and trusts the GB with all her heart.
i have taken from my kids to have a normal childhood, holidays, birthdays.
i have put unneeded stress on my marriage because i don't believe the lies. i am considered an apostate...What ever!
This cult has ruined any spirituality i had.
There's no easy way out is there? Divorce? start over?
i get so upset for the situation i have put my family in....for accepting the lies,
i hate my wife for what she has become.
when she is her authentic self, i love her with every once of energy, every breath. when she is in cult mode
i loath her. i want my wife back, i want my family back...i want time back, so i could have never took that first step into the worse mistake of my life.

Have we become what we despise so much?

the majority of members who tend to join this forum have been hurt possibly even traumatized sometimes to the point of wanting to end their lives.

upon joining the forum, new members are welcomed with open arms, welcome messages start pouring in, "likes" are freely given, a false sense of security is promoted where a member is free to speak his mind without having to worry about the wt gestapo.

again, similar to how potential converts are welcomed and "love bombed" upon entering a kh for the first time.
