Last assembly, just shy of 1200 people watched 3 born-ins get baptized. The age range was something like 10-15.
how many were baptized in your area, last assembly?.

every active jw that stays in hiding their knowledge about ttatt is a hole in the watchtower wall.
i propose those who can stay in, should, especially if they have high positions.
how else can we know what they are up to?
how do you wake up someone taken from us by these screwed up people?.
our son was hooked by a jw at the age of 25. within 3 months they were married and we never even new about it.
he is now 29 and has nothing to do with his family(except his sister the odd time, when he needs something) of any freinds.. we are lost and have been for four years.. .
I wish I knew what those were.
I was feeling generous so I did the legwork for ya
All quotes are from the JW abomination of a "bible"
Ephesians 6:2,3, in reference to the command found in Exodus 20:12 and Deuteronomy 5:16.
“Honor your father and your mother” is the first command with a promise: “That it may go well with you and you may remain a long time on the earth.”
Matthew 19:17-19
He said to him: “Why do you ask me about what is good? One there is who is good. If, though, you want to enter into life, observe the commandments continually.” 18 He said to him: “Which ones?” Jesus said: “You must not murder, you must not commit adultery, you must not steal, you must not bear false witness, 19 honor your father and your mother, and you must love your neighbor as yourself.”If you show that one to him, you can give it a little extra power by suggesting that it's significant that showing honor to one's parents was mentioned in the same breath as murder (this is a line of reasoning that JWs often use to increase the importance of relatively minor commands)
Romans 1:28-32
Just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting. And they were filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, and badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice, being whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, schemers of what is harmful, disobedient to parents, without understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, and merciless. Although these know full well the righteous decree of God—that those practicing such things are deserving of death—they not only keep on doing them but also approve of those practicing them.
2 Timothy 3:1-7
But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.
Again, in these verses having no natural affection is grouped with some other pretty bad stuff. Of course JWs are trained to recognize these verses as applying only to "worldly" people, so it might be a little difficult to make your point with them.
yes, i'm not kidding!.
this gem was stated today in the talk!
(shortly before i walked out).
Jesus. No wonder you walked out.
Almost makes me wonder if the elder giving the talk disagrees with that point if he felt the need to wash his hands of it by making it clear that it was verbatim in the outline.
you know it dawned on me that witnesses and indeed the gb love to highlight how political leaders and groups can never be trusted to keep their promises, and often change their ideas, policies and platforms as time goes on...once they have already gained the power from the people.. hmmm.....sound familiar???.
this is blatant hypocrisy!.
the org has gained "power and control", then countless times failed to keep its "policies or promises or platform teachings" as time moves on.
Politicians can be voted out but they will simply be replaced by others who will act the same. Those who seek power in any field are those you can least trust for any reason.
“The major problem—one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them. To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.” ― Douglas Adams, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

check it out.
literally the message is if you don't pay attention at the meetings you could die.
how insane, i feel like this must wake some people up..
I thought God was greater than that. Than caring if someone doesnt pay enough attenttion on meetings.
You're thinking of the god of Christianity. Jehovah is petty and vindictive.
does any other fader who maintains a minimal connection to preserve family ties have this issue:.
i post something on ig, facebook whatever.
and from my super zealous family i get preachy posts.
i have been observing a pattern in recent wtbs publications and events.
is the importance of the preaching activity no longer the number 1 priority?
are not billions of lives still at stake?.
Advertise the website and donate. That's all they need to know.
And provide free labor for real estate development.
The preaching work is a relic of when it was actually profitable. Tax law changes screwed them over a bit on that, and I think the JW culture is shifting to the point where most going d2d don't remember the days of asking for money so they're uncomfortable asking for donations. The magazines are so cheap and flimsy and come in bountiful supply, so most probably don't even factor that in when they donate.
If this cult is still around in 20 years, I wouldn't be surprised if they phased it out altogether and replaced it with the important work of building kingdom halls. That's a big change so it'll take time so no one will notice, but they're already on their way with the website and the carts.
