Astrology, the Zodiac, etc............
by Sunnygal41 ini know that this topic will be a draw to those who are truly interested in this subject, and for those who seem to feel that it is their "duty" to debunk untruth and myth, etc.
in their sphere of life.
let it so be stated that whoever is truly interested in this subject, and in having a "chart" done, etc.

I think everything in the universe has an effect on everything else,,but I don't think astrology has the answers as to how the stars effect us. And I totally agree with Rem on this one.

Lets face it we Xjw are all different,, some like fluff,,others hate it,,some like football others think it is worthless,,etc....
I personally think pp, leolaia,,and others have contributed much to our understand of the bible,,it is to be expected that some of us won't share this veiw and that is what makes life interesting. If we all felt the same way about every subject,,life would indeed be very boring.

Is the Bible Just B.S.?
by shamus indo you think that god enjoys killing people?
it sure sounds like it to me; jw doctrine more or less scared me into thinking that god is going to kill all persons whom he/she thinks is not doing his will.
my question is, how can god kill someone for not being "christian", or following the bible out of sheer ignorance?

LT,
You remind me of myself a few months back. At that time I was noticing the contradictions in the bible but still beleived it,,(mind control was very deep),,and then one day the scales fell off my eyes,,and boom!! "I kicked Jehovah's mythological ass all over the place,,with the help of Thor of coarse.LOL
I'd say the way you are going,,posting on these threads,,that soon you'll be kicking his ass too.

Let's bring these enemies of freedom and human decency down to their knees!
by Jonty Parkin inpreviously, i was content to go my own way and allow my erstwhile brothers and sisters go theirs.
after all, if i am honest, i am equally delighted to be able to ignore/shun those myopic, sanctimonious little turds, as they are to ignore/shun me!.
however, having read many of your posts, i'm downright bloody livid, not neccessarily with the aforementioned "myopic, sanctimonious little turds", but those grumpy, stubborn, conniving deceitful old gits in brooklyn who have created this society of "myopic, sanctimonious little turds"!.

Jonty,
It is just a matter of time. The WT has pissed off a lot of people.
With all these enemies and willing minds I'm sure that some one or maybe two people will suceed in bringing the Wt down.
Keep your mind open to possibilities and you never know.

Spooky true story
by Leolaia ini heard a very bizarre fieldwork story today in an anthropology talk.
a female graduate student in the late '90s gave one of her professors a tape she recorded of her encounter with one of the "swamp people" in mississippi.
he put the tape aside and never listened to it until after she graduated but when he did, he was utterly amazed.

Leol,
Thanks for reminding me,, I read up on Jung about 30+ years ago,,and even bought a few books on him. Then the JW hooked me. So today i went to the library, and got a few books on him.
I like his ideas about "collective unconcious". Seems to be a somewhat plausible possibility. I'll have to read him stoned,,that allways gets me centered.

I would think that the subconcious knows many languages and can in a trance state speak them. After all the subconcious is very aware of many things all at the same time,,our concious mind is too slow to keep the body alive,,so we can never conciously know all that our subconcious knows.
There may be something very important the subconcious of that women wanted pass on.

Will man evolve a beyound any need for religion???

kls,
You may be right,,they say that evolution is not a perfectly straight path up. We may go sideways and make a lot of zig-zags but It seems our race has gained more intelligence and is headed toward greater intelligence but we may soon find our species transformed to pond scum and another species to higher inteligence there is no way to know for sure no absolutes.

Nos,
When I said evolution I meant in all its forms. I think we can evolve enough as a species intellectually,,to where the idea will automatically seem crazy.
