Gingerbread. Thanks for the link. I'm not sure if that's the same one or not. Regardless that was interesting to check out.
In my area I have seen a recent trend towards home schooling. hopefully it doesnt get more traction.
recently i had a conversation with a close witness friend.
i have always viewed him as moderate.
not full j-dub nut bag witness style.

They have a much better chance at keeping their kids in the Borg if they homeschool.
don't you really feel like your in marketing?.
I have seen no backlash. I think most witnesses are loving something new. Just look at all of the paraphernalia. It's insane.

Recently I had a conversation with a close witness friend. I have always viewed him as moderate. Not full j-dub nut bag witness style. Because of this I was shocked when he told me that they are starting to home school theit kids this year. It is a program designed by a witness. She incorporates a lot of the jw.org content into the curriculum. This is a decision that I can't respect.
even when I was fully indoctrinated I always thought home schooling was a bad decision for witnesses. The kids always seem socially awkward as they get older.
a friend of mine is trying the 'slow fade' like i did.
he is a third generation witness and comes from a prominent family in his circuit.
his uncle stepped down as an elder because he had doubts and could not serve anymore (although for now he remains a witness in good standing).
Looking at my hall and the surrounding ones I would guess that in the U.S about 20 -30 percent were around pre 1975. Most of these were born in baby boomers. most are in there 60s now. I would guess that in other countries the percentage would be much lower. In my area the majority of the current elders would be part of the pre 1975 group.
i recently was on a trip in central america.
any kingdomhall i passed by had jw.org banners or scribble that went over what used to say kingdomhall.
in a flea market, and other business areas, i saw the infamous literature cart out.
The inside of the religion is still the same ol same ol. They are trying to polish it up to appear different but on the inside nothing much has changed. it's still the same nasty cult that it was 10 years ago. The harmful blood and shunning policies are still rock solid among the R&F
.

child abuse in the usa.
child abuse is the physical, sexual or emotional maltreatment or neglect of a child or children.
in the united states, the centers for disease control and prevention (cdc) and the department for children and families (dcf) define child maltreatment as any act or series of acts of commission or omission by a parent or other caregiver that results in harm, potential for harm, or threat of harm to a child.
No. I had a good child hood with loving parents. They are brain washed. But still loving parents. If you take a very loose understanding of abuse then any child raised in any religion could be considered abused. Catholics are told they will go to hell if they are bad. Some witness kids were definitely abused. But I most assuredly was not!
had a discussion with my wife about kh/assembly hall builds and i told her i don't believe the watchtower society follow osha standards on there build sites.
she trumpted it up that the borg follows stringent pratices and there standards would be more strict.
i laughed and said....ya i don't think so.
the rbc rules have become way more strict in the past few yEars. the safety brigade is everywhere on job sites. No one under 16 is allowed on site anymore. when I was a kid it was a free for all.

looks waaaay too close to jw.org branding, including the font, for it to be allowed to stay online by borg lawyers.
plus the video gallery page is all jw.org videos, yet the site carries this in the footer:.
Well that sure didn't last long. Mother must have gotten very upset!
