by James Mixon in2005...three billion people live on less than $2.50 a day.
at least 80% of humanity lives on less.
than $10.00 a day.

The new 'classes' jehovahs-witness.net has created. Which one are you?
by Esse quam videri inover time a number of different 'classes' of members have arisen on this forum.
1] apple watch watchers - this group takes a great interest in watches worn by members of the governing body.
2] cult escape consultants - one who freely offers advise on how to flee from a cult - mainly the wt society.

That guy that posted a few months ago who wasn't a dub but had a dub wife that cheated on him should have his own class. I have no idea what to call that class though

I need some advice
by SpunkedTeen ini dont think ill be able to leave the organization, you see i have no close friends in or outside the jws and my entire family is part of the cult,if i leave my mom and the rest of my family will be heartbroken and i dont want to be the reason they are hurt.
im not particularly close to any of my family members but i still care for them.
i could really use some advice because i have no one else to turn too..

I am still in for family reasons but I know that I can't do it permanently. It is incredibly hard on my psyche. My best advice is Don't make any rash moves. -

Any other religions match the JW's on these items....?
by EndofMysteries insince many things have changed, new religions, and religions changing doctrine, etc, for everytime a jw says nobody except jws, 1. refuse to go to war.
2. refuse to be in politics 3. preach about god's kingdom.
4. don't allow sin (dfing for fornication, etc).

Do you find it hard to be around active JW's now?
by EdenOne ini do - actually, it's become close to unbearable.. and herein lies the paradox: i tried to fade in the illusion that i might keep contact with family and friends still "in".
was it worth it?
because not only most of them shun me anyways, but i find it almost unbearable to be around them, especially when the cult chit chat kicks in: every cute animal video clip triggers endless comments about glimpses of the future paradise and how "god did it"; those greasy praises to the organization and the governing body; the dumb awe about every jw broadcast and those cheesy music videos; the endless drivel against other religions when one knows perfectly well that we're no better than them; the endless flow of "experiences" of field service or spectacular conversions into "the truth"; the relentless congregation gossip; and so on .... i ask myself: is this why i am fading for ...?

I am still in and find that the dubs I am friends with rarely if ever talk about "spiritual stuff". Maybe that's because they don't view me As a fader. Perhaps once they think you are "spiritually weak" how they talk around you changes. -

feeling of hopelessness and fear
by 060702015 indo you have feelings of hopelessness and fear for not having a religion?.
do you envy happy jehovah witnesses and living their lives carefree?.
-
Ignoranceisbliss
Not hopelessness or fear. But possibly envy. Hence my name. Believing is simple. My dub friends ( I am still in) are true believers and still have a good time. But I earnestly believe that the pain that I will feel as I leave the Borg is well worth the legacy of not raising my two little princesses (they are still very young) in a cult. -

CO layoff buzz. Anyone heard anything?
by freemindfade inheard of some co's being "let go".
anyone else heard anything like this in the last few days?
-
Ignoranceisbliss
I haven't heard anything. There has to be a certain number they need to cover the U.S. Territory. If they start dissolving more halls or if they change it to one visit per hall per year then they could get rid of quite a few. I don't think that's happening yet though. -

I had heard that a new one is being built in Waterford Connecticut. I believe this is the first of the new style KHs and I am not sure what stage it is in. -

What went wrong in your congregation?
by The Rebel inthe target is converts.. why does it seem such an outrageous aim for a congregation to recruit new converts?.
in my old congregation, the enthusiasm was there but the knocking on doors produced zero " baptisms" in my final years.. a) why so little interests?.
b) was it the internet ?.
-
Ignoranceisbliss
I agree that there are ZERO new recruits in our area. Why???
IMHO
1. Witnesses are horrible at D2D work. This is an inefficient way to recruit even if your a good salesman. Dubs for the most part aren't excited about their product and don't know how to properly showcase it
2. The product sucks and is boring. The meetings are soooooo boring, you can't celebrate holidays, and you have to agree to go D2D. Besides born ins or those whose life is in shambles who would agree to that?
