Change number 1. The first of the overlapping generations could of been born in 1914. Didn't have to be 20 yrs old.
Change number 2. The second of the overlapping generations could be born when the first generation is 80
change number 3. 607 was wrong. Move it up to 587/1934. That adds another 20 years.
With these basic changes that the r&f will joyfully accept as new light the end could be 180 years from 1914. That's way longer than any of us will be alive. No plan b required.

started a letter writing campaign a few yrs ago to congregations.
Does anybody have anymore info on this being legit? Every other week or so Tracy posts on fb jwrg3 about his last meeting. just recently he mentioned his last meeting with 40 jw youth. Knowing how the Borg is run makes this seem impossible. I would oh so like to believe his claims but I don't. I don't want to call him out on jwrg3 cause that groups all about love (which I think is great). I'm just not sure what he could be getting out of lying like that unless it's all about the notoriety.
when rutherford assumed the presidency of the watchtower society he instituted series of sweeping changes to the teachings and practices of the bible students.
some of these changes were at complete odds with what had been taught previously.
a key example was the elevation of the watchtower society as "god's visible organization on earth".
After spending the weekend at the convention it is obvious that the Borg is in rebranding mode. jW.org is everywhere. On the jumbotron. People's buttons. Bags. I never saw a WT symbol. I am confident that in the next short while we will no longer place wt and awake door to door. It will be tracts instead.

I have been there both days and this is a little perspective.
1. Boring talks. I know all about TTATT but I can still appreciate a good talk. So far there have been none!
2. this is hard work. People are worn out. The traffic is awful
3. The delegates are weak. Mostly from grrmany. Also from other US stateS. My guess is that not enough people wanted to come to the D so they opened it up to natives. The delegates are wearing their local garb. Not meeting garb but native clothing. The German men are wearing lederhosen.
4. The GB are front and center. Lots of loesh and had a movie in the audio drama staring lett.
5. People are expecting a big announcement. This convention has been built up and people think something big is coming. I think an announcement is coming but it will be at the branch meeting in November. I have no guess as to what it might be.

I too was shocked at how bad of a speaker geritt is. Awful. Growing up I remember how great of speakers the GB was. This really is a new breed.
it has been commented here that "soon" the do's will be history.
the co level will be "retired" at age 70 and the latest development was that the cobe can not serve after age 80. it would seem that there is a "cull" of top management.
in secular companys that would signal a radical change of directions ???.
im not much of a conspiracy theorist. I usually think things are done for more simple reasons , but some here make compelling arguments. I know that in northern michigan two Kingdom Halls have been dissolved in the last year. Hail, and ossanique (I have no idea how to spell the second one). These were combined with another hall about an hour away. Also the vast majority of the halls in our area are getting projection systems That can stream from bethel. Very interesting.....
i'm not a jw nor is my entire family save for my brother, his wife and kids.
we are celebrating our grandparents 50th anniversary.. one of my brother's kids is living with his girlfriend and as a result, the rest of his immediate {jw} family is shunning him.. what, if anything do you think that i could do or say to get his (jw) family to see how awful their behavior is?.
i am asking for suggestions to get these people to think.. .
Could ask him if he has any idea how many people commit suicide due to being shunned. From my experience shunning is just something jdubs do but they don't really think about how truly awful this practice is.
just found out from my jw mom that the congregations located in the suburbs north of seattle.
will be renting buses to shuttle people back and forth to the international convention at husky.
stadium.
Cost of bussing in metro detroit is 50/person for all three days. For a family of 4 thats $200. Definitely a pretty big expense for some families.

apparently, there will be two points of entry to the convention.
Doesn't sound right. Is it a big arena? In detroit at ford field we have been informed that all will be screened by non jdubs. Also all bags will be searched. I'm imagining this will go real slow due to the fact that everyone will have lunch bags.
