Same for my cong. CO loves to eat. Once we have to travel out of the way to meet at a distant location that has " wider selection of food" (quote his words). The last CO died of heart attack after he drove himself to hospital. CO meals are all sponsored by cong members in the name of showing hospitality to God's chosen ones. I heard some bros complaining that it is taxing on them to provide free meals. It's a parasitic arrangement That is wearing out the flock.

You ever notice how personalities change when CO comes around?
by dugout inisn't it sickning when normaly people in the cong don't even speak to you.
but when the co visits comes they want to shake your hand and even (cringe) hug you?
then as soon as he leaves back to normal.

Food For Thought
by Yondaime inandre gide its is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not.. the words of wisdom from the deceased french author echo through my mind every day, and they make me think, would the people in my congregation give me their unconditional love if i was not doing well in the congregation spiritually?.
spiritually as in giving well in the congregation, making nice comments, doing parts in the service meeting, reading during the book study on stage, working at the literature counter, and recently becoming a servant.. of the 20 or so young ones in the hall only me and 4 others are progressing spiritually.
ive seen the way brothers and sisters have treated those in the hall that arent progressing and dont take the truth seriously.

I can feel your emotions. Thanks. We live through all such conditional love shown in our cong too. It's fake. Great to be out n face the real world.

Disfellowed on 7/16/14 for sending a letter to my former congregation
by spbondgirl007 init's been quite a while since i lasted posted anything on jwn.
i was in hiding previously, but only because i wanted to avoid the shun gun until i had the opportunity to tell my former congregation what i think about the org./gb.
i last attended a meeting over 2.5 years ago but it wasn't until june--when i earned my bachelor's degree--that i finally had the time to collect my thoughts and get them down on paper...i decided to write my letter in a style i felt would be most appealing to my target audience--jw's still under gb mind control --in the hope that at least a few would read it and actually "think".

Hello
by lurkernomore ini thought it was high time to introduce myself (without my name of course).
as my name would suggest i have been reading your intriguing post, thoughts and discussions for some time now.
around 3/4 months to be exact.. i guess to start with it would seem fitting to give a little background on my current situation.. i'm a born-in, but have over the last few years found that through a number of varying occurences, (some of which i may discuss in future posts) that my 'zeal' has gone from regular field service and meetings to no service in over a year and very sporadic meeting attendance.

Great news brother.
we left 6 mths ago with my wife after 20 yrs. it is kinda scary at first.
But you will NOT regret this decision! We are more than happy, simply joyous!
Just had beer and dinner with an Ex-JW brother last night.talked for over 2 hours!
The gist is that we must have great love of the real biblical Truth over the Watchtower lies,
this love will send us free from WT bondage. We had live and breathe Jn8:32.
Life has been awesome since then.

3rd Update on Fading
by wallievase inok well i have updated you about the dilemma about my wife and family and more recently about the elders trying to schedule a shepherding call.. on our way back from th international convention she basically told me if i were to leave that we should go our seperate ways.. so i took a few days and thought about it.
it seems she was more mad about my waffling back and forth and going to the hall sometimes and just not making up my mind.. today i gave her a proposal- i will stop going all together unless it it an assembly or convention or memorial for her.. we will not discuss religious topics, as this is where most of our arguments have been centered around, at all.. we will support all of each others endeavors besides religious intrests.
i will talk to my family and let them know my intentions without getting into an details next month because my mother keeps calling me about it.

[Watchtower study for the week of July 28, 2014 – w14 5/15 p. 26] Par. 3 – In the Simplified Edition: “After false religion is destroyed, Jehovah’s Witnesses will be the only religious organization left on earth.”
Current world population 7.1 billion. JW is about 8 M, make up only 0.11%!
Mind you, it is less than 1%! So if all are dead, survivors will also die due to famine, contamination and plague.
what a crazy teaching. Almost fantasy.

Have you reconnected with ex-JW's after you have left the Borg?
by EdenOne inafter reading from another thread, i felt it was worth asking this question.. if you left the borg on your own, have you attempted to meet others whom you used to be connected with while you were "in", but who have also become ex-jw's before or after you have left the wts?
if that's the case, has it remained a friendship, or the connection grew cold?
just curious as to what keeps friendships "stick" [or not] once you no longer have the borg's doctrinal glue.. your experiences are welcome.. eden.

Yes. First thing I did is to reconnect with those who had faded. I met up with other Ex JWs. abt 5 in total n counting. Very encouraging to hear
the real reasons of their fade n DF. i can say All are happier n full of zest for life. Freedom!

Take a look at this video on YouTube:
http://youtu.be/Zh7FvwNn5IEThere is something seriously wrong about this teaching.
fine if GB changed interpretation on generation, identity of FDS but it is morally wrong if their
interpretations leads to wanton loss of lives. What a twisted teaching!
bro Rado. kerp up the good work.

I do not miss anything about the conventions

We did not miss it a bit. It is a real waste of time. At times, I can't recall most of the talks, because, 1. Poor quality of the speakers, 2. Poor manuscript talks with recycled materials 3. Shallow biblical topics. We are so happy we not attending DC. For the first time in our life, we look forward to weekends. It's a time to rest, n ponder abt spiritual things, go do things you love and spend quality time with family, relatives and new friends.
