Elders Can't Simply Go Back to Being Ministerial Servants...

as a currently serving "awake" elder caught in the web of family, spouse, employer, etc.

etc..... i have often wondered why an elder cannot simply drop back to ministerial servant if he so desired (because of stress, circumstances, health).. on paper a currently serving elder in good standing more than qualifies to be a ms. that is obviously the case by their own hierarchy structure and definitions of qualification.. but...under their current arrangement....theoretically a man could give a district convention talk one week to 10,000 people, step down as an elder the following day due to stress, and not "qualify" to give a 5 min part on the next week's service meeting in front of 50 people.

doesn't make a lot of sense.. so my question is this.....why do you think the wt forces a man to drop all the way "down" to publisher if he no longer wants to serve as an elder?.

Many I have known over the years have stepped aside for various legit reasons and have been re-appointed straight back as an Elder in 1 to 3 years (no wrongdoing). The rule of thumb I always heard was within a year but what is said and what is done are sometimes different. Of course the original issue would have been needed to be addressed, sickness, work issues etc. and would be asked of you. If you took a break longer than 1 year you could or would be used as a MS first before becoming an Elder again. I don't think there is a hidden agenda to humiliate one.

The announcement to the cong. does not give away any reason for your removal and my experience was there was much speculation in the hall as to why I was no longer serving. One of my children was targeted as disqualifying me by several families and was being partially shunned by some but the wife and I straightened that out, without any help from the BOE I might ad.

I don't comment, quit the school, no FS report and barely make meetings any longer so no "privileges" are asked of me but when the trash cans out back are full I still get a call. lol guess some "privileges" you just can't get rid of!

Don't try to better your family's situation, just stay home and be poor. When you finally can't take it anymore and are ready to hang yourself we got that covered too... go to the nearest KH and get washed out to sea!

I used to raise Ostriches and though I never heard one... they sure smell like they did. In all seriousness a birds gut is different than mammals, the bacteria in our intestines that produce gas are not in birds digestive systems with exception of some domesticated species like turkeys.

its amazing that they preach that the world is about to come to an end so soon but they won't spend a dime of their own money to get the message out.. i mean think about it, a couple years back a california preacher with less than 100k followers and about 100 millions dollars was able to get his message out that the world was coming to an end in 2012 and people heard about his message globally.

the org on the other hand sold over a billion dollars worth of real estate and hasn't spent a dime to get its message out.

all the halls were built with the local brothers contributions same can be said of circuit assembly and branch sites.

Coral reefs are very sensitive to temp changes of even a couple of degrees not to mention changes of salinity. The earths major coral reefs pre-date the supposed global flood by thousands of years. Ice core samples and the study of tree rings also fly in the face of the global flood. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed but I can see that taking this account literally is not logical.
