The Ages Of The Biblical Patriarchs
by JW_Rogue inso i've been reading the imitate their faith book (because my wife wants to) and keep coming upon these ridiculous ages for the bible patriarchs.
now i know wt takes everything literally but there has got to be some explanation that makes more sense.
why would the bible writers create these obviously false ages?

So Adam's sin just made him just a "little" imperfect and the rest of us are much more imperfect... except for Methuselah who was a little less imperfect than Adam since he lived longer. I always wondered how long Eve or some of the first women lived? Such believable stories. -

by LevelThePlayingField inthis is becoming more common.

Make the move and live on your own terms. It is your life and you need to be happy. Treat your parents as you wish to be treated. It will be awkward at first for everybody but it will work out.
Welcome aboard and best to you.

Massive Destruction of Judicial Files Ordered by By Servce Department?
by Room 215 inover on the silentlambs facebook site is a copy of a document that purports to be an order by the service depart to destroy files relating to child molestation cases: https://www.facebook.com/silentlambs/photos/a.571978169529812.1073741826.144752662252367/970409503020008/?type=3&theater.
have any of you seen this?
is this a real document or bogus?.

This is true with the exception of child abuse cases which are retained indefinitely. So records of child abuse is not being destroyed. However getting those records to court is another thing altogether. These records are supposed to be destroyed after 7 years I believe.

Elder On Tablet During Prayer
by jw07 induring a prayer in the kh all our eyes are supposed to be closed, right?
i've never been one to fully my eyes during prayers.
i'll close them down, but just enough that i can still peep around at what's happening without being noticed.. there's something i've noticed a certain elder doing for the second time now.

Bowed head and closed eyes not required but most do it as a sign of humility/respect. Attendants are to remain alert at all times even during prayer. This is emphasized more at larger gatherings like memorial and assemblies. There is a recent article dealing with some of this especially the hugging and holding of hands during prayer. I haven't read it just heard about it on a previous post and looked up the image in the article.
