Did you know about the organ transplant ban when you were a believer?
by Apognophos inback when i was learning ttatt, i was shocked to read on jwfacts about the organ transplant ban from 1967 to 1980. this was a large piece of evidence for me that the society could not be god's organization.
growing up as an earnest witness, and living near the headquarters, i knew a lot of the organization's embarrassing history, and it didn't faze me, but i'd never heard of this ban before, and it shocked me.
it's gotten me wondering why no one i know ever talks about it, when it must have affected many witnesses during that time (or were they getting transplants on the sly?

I remember it. People acting like the people who donated the organ. How f-ing stupid can they get? I remember hearing that about people who get a transfussion. And I remember hearing rummors from the grape vine, like just the thought of having someone's blood or an organ in me makes me sick! Give me a break. I'm not sure where those rummors start "probably in bethel" but thet travel faster than if it was in print!

Could a JW be DF for celebrating Festivus?
by Stealth inafter all, it's a secular holiday not a religious holiday.. if i was still an active member, i think i would start a new tradition of celebrating festivus.
most likely no jws would come, but that's okay, it's a famiily holiday anyway.. what grounds would the elders have to disfellowship you?.

But for some like me, christmas was magical. I'm so glad I was not raised a jehovahs w. Sorry. I'm sure some who were raised in it had a good child hood. This world we live in can become a living night mare. Let kids enjoy somthing realy fun while they are young. My wife thinks santa is the devil. Whats wrong with an imagination? I think it's very heathly to realy belive things like this. I was told when I started studying. If you tell your kids santa is real, and then they find out later he is not. What will they think when you tell them to belive in God? What a bunch of kill joys, party poops. I'm sure we have all heard ones say.. We don't need a date to give our kids gifts. We can do it all year. But most don't. You don't need christmas. You get to knock on doors! Sorry for being long winded. Venting.

Tight Pants Tony must have clean feet, because their usualy in his mouth. But this you should marry only a M.S. is one dumbest things I have ever heard. I know more than one example of people chooseing Elders or M.s for a mate, and it turned out to be a nightmere.
