i have been an elder for 6 years.
it's been the last 2 years or so that i've really seen the hypocrisy, but the ability to know the shenanigans of the society through the body of elders letters has kind of kept me in there.
i'm to the point now that i can't stand the hatred and bitterness that the body of elders has towards myself and my whole family.
Difficult for me as to why you would even concider staying on as an Elder when you are ashing us on this site.
I can say , in my case, I was an Elder for many years and now have left and never happier.
Whhatever you think you may loose... you will find many times more friends and joy outside!
so i read some threads about why someone remains a ministerial servant or elder, or why they are still active jw's.
others are telling stories about how they cut back slowly, and some of them got removed as ms/elder/pioneer or whatever.
yet others tell of how they just up and stopped going one day.
This is up to YOU, and YOU alone.
I chose to leave. I too was an Elder for many years. I have no ill will for those who stay. It is a safe life.
I do miss my family, but it is they who will not talk to me.
Life outside can be great, however I do see many on this site that are messed up. No doubt they were taht way when they were in too.
Have no fear!!! Anyone who wants CAN get out!

in all my years of being a jw, one of the more annoying aspects to me was each year sitting through the service meeting review part about what was expected (see: demanded) behavior and policies that the rest of us rank and file were ordered to comply with to attend a district convention.
the minutia in this part and the over-reaching set of rules were enough to drive me into a lather of rage at the audacity of these people thinking they could and should control every single aspect of my attendance to this "free" and voluntary convention.
from what clothing i can wear on my trip to and from the convention city, to what clothing i can wear before and after each day of the convention, to what i should be doing after each day instead of eating dinner and enjoying some good times with good friends, to insisting on wearing a ridiculous name badge, to what i should eat for lunch and where i should eat lunch and what is the appropriate container to keep my lunch in, to .................. the list is endless!!!!!!!!
Comp rooms are part of the hotel system. I travel 275 nights a year. My Company gets Comps all the time.
If some poor family wants to go to a JW Convention... Who cares.
I would rather go for a long ride on my time off. But if they get a free room... who cares
three days ago we mixed up the recipe and sprayed the driveway cracks and several places where the weeds have been hard to get rid of.. today the weeds are dead just like when we've sprayed commercial weed killer.. mix one gallon white vinegar, 1 cup salt, 5 to 6 tablespoons of dawn dishwashing liquid.
note: don't spray if it's fixin' to rain, wait for dry weather so the stuff will stay on the weeds.
and don't spray where you want anything to grow ever!.

i'm trying to fade away from the jw religion fully aware of ttatt .
my wife is still under mind control of this cult and teenager 14 years old attending most of the meetings an some ministry arrangements but is not interested and going just to please mum.
i actively educate my son about about other cults and their practices and he knows i don't believe that wt has anything to do with god.
I have found it best to do what I feel is best for me. I have left. My family remains. That is their choice. I never try to pursuade them differant.
I have never been happier. Miss my family though... Still happy
you all know the doctrine, it's satan's system, can't participate, voting means putting faith in man instead of god, etc.
if so, if god put them in place, then he put faith in them to handle things to an extent and so if you happen to live in a country where people vote on how that government does things, should they not be voting?
now here is a real contradiction...... as the bible says, it's impossible to get outside of the world.
Who ever posted the WT article needs to tell their elders they are on here. Ball up!

i have no real friends!.
i have always been extremely active in every aspect of the org, since childhood.
Hang in there... My "REAL" friends all split when I left the "TRUTH" I now have the most fantastic friend I have ever had. Friends that would support me no matter what.
