How Come the Watchtower does not admit "We Don't Know Anything About Bible Prophecy" and come clean?

so many of us have been caught up in the negative effects this religion placed over our lives and those who we love very much.

i am the first one to tell my kids "i don't know s&^^ about this or that subject", if the watchtower is truly our brother or spiritual mother why don't they tell us the following questions we all have asked them?.

1. we screwed up about 1914 and "life is short, go live your life to the fullest while maintaining justice and morality, don't hurt your fellow man by making his life screwed up!.

Funny to see this post. I just spent my day off walking around all the buildings in Brooklyn Heights I worked on thinking the same thing. As I looked up at the huge blue .ORG sign hanging top of the Squib building. I recalled just a few years ago when the GB said not to use a computer print out of scriptures during meetings. God must have changed his mind and bought stock in Apple.

Or remember when social media was warned to be evil. I just looked at all the .ORG Facebook pages.

Maybe God or the treasury department of the society invested in their IPO.

I do hope at least some who are still in will start looking at all the changes in the past 5 years and see that this religion is run by men, fairly well organized men, and not God. As old WT leaders die off and are replaced with younger computer smart kids, new rules come into play. Just like any other corperation.

id wonder how many wives of servants had the upper hand so to speak, on issues, that of course, were supposed to be private, yet gee lets be honest, husbands and wives talk.

i have very recently come out of a bout of severe depression which lasted for years.

i have ginormous underlying issues which i hardly talk about, especially to my family.. today my sister came in, wanting to force me to do something she wanted.

her strategy was to make me feel bad for feeling bad, just to show me that my problem (which she has no idea of but thinks she does) wasn't the biggest in the world.

Feeling sad is a very difficult feeling to carry. Many on this site have been or still are there.

Please keep looking ahead. Try your best to see past what you feel now.

And please, try to close out the burden of guilt many of us have felt both while we were in as well as after we left the Organization.

At time I still need to put my ear buds in and go for a long walk with Pandora playing that evil music!

i've watched the reaction to the nepal disaster for the first time with eyes opened.

lots of comments about praying for the brothers and sisters affected.

the official release on the website references only the sister and her two children that died, along with the impact on the brothers there.

It was the same with 911 in Manhattan. They talked about how they gave "hope" to those effected.

The Society teaches that there is no need to help others in dyer situation. Hey.... we are all going to die in the big A anyway.

Once again.. ez to see when we are out. Almost impossible when we are in.

i am new to this forum - it is only a couple of weeks since i have allowed myself to acknowledge and research my doubts.

i am trying to be fair by reading both sides of the story and considering jw official explanation of confusing matters.

one of the issues i have been looking at is shunning - and i was shocked to see the misleading information about shunning on the jw.org website: .

Keep an open mind. When I was in I would never listen to any one who had a different view.

Now I know why.

I deeply regret a conversation I once had with my brother who left.

I shunned him for 14 years. Once I came to senses I spent a year trying to find him to apologize.

Many prohibitions are not directly stated by the Society, however you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses know that shunning is being stressed at Assemblies and conventions.

Just as they say voting in a matter of conscience. They do not have the balls to put what they really believe on their web site or in print. Once again, however, what do you think would happen to an Elder or Pioneer who went down and cast a vote for the president?

Please read and learn from this site. There is a lot of good information.
