It means that the ones with the identical mtDNA are the ones that became dominant, and that eventually that particular tribe conquered or simply out-survived the others.
You mean like Adam and Eve.
okay, everyone, buckle your seatbelts and put on your thinking caps.
in this week's installment in my continuing series, we'll be examining two (count 'em!
) pieces of the evidence and how they relate to each other.. you can check out my previous articles here:.
It means that the ones with the identical mtDNA are the ones that became dominant, and that eventually that particular tribe conquered or simply out-survived the others.

a recent poll suggests that over 90% of americans believe in god.
this compares to around 48% of brits who believe in god's existence.. even the devoutly religious tony blair doesn't want britain to follow in the religious footsteps of the usa, as he clearly states here as he risks incurring the displeasure of george w: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4369481.stm.
so, as a person whose criticism of the us is confined mainly to it's penal system, i was wondering this: do you think that the more religious a country becomes, the harsher it's treatment is of those who err, harsh punishment being seen as a christian virtue?.
Do you think that the more religious a country becomes, the harsher it's treatment is of those who err, harsh punishment being seen as a Christian virtue?
Maybe we should change the question.
Do you think that the LESS religious a country becomes, the more lenient its treatment of those who err, harsh punishment being seen as infringement of human rights.
Going by whats been happening lately in Britain, the second question is more fitting.
could someone explain to me why they held the memorial on the wrong date?
this week the jews celebrate purim--not pesach.
we are actually in the month of adar.
Interesting ? Why the difference?
So they have found the WMD at last.
freeminds & wt in the same hypocrisy?
on the one hand, watch tower receives donations through guidestar.
by the other side, free minds, inc receives donations through guidestar too.
Also notice that you can see Freeminds finances.
Why can't we check the Watchtowers finances?

Science: Bible's Red Sea Miracle Is Real?
This is what the book of Exodus says about the parting of the Red Sea:
"And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon dry ground: the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left."
Two mathematicians--one from St. Petersburg, Russia and the other from Hamburg, Germany--have concluded that the biblical story of Moses parting the rushing waters of the Red Sea so 600,000 Jews could escape slavery by the Egyptians was possible scientifically and in concurrence with the laws of physics.
Russia's St. Petersburg Times reports that by using a system of differential equations, Naum Volzinger, a senior researcher at St. Petersburg's Institute of Oceanology, and his Hamburg-based colleague Alexei Androsov established the conditions under which the waves might have parted.
Here's the mathematics and science behind the miracle: There is a reef in the Red Sea exactly at the documented spot where the Jews escaped Egypt. In ancient times, the reef was unbroken and much closer to the surface of the sea than it is today. The Bible story cites the "strong east wind that blew all that night." So mathematically, the two scientists wrote an equation that considered wind speed, the strength of the storm that would leave the reef high and dry at low tide, how long before the waters returned, and how quickly they returned.
Volzinger, who specializes in ocean phenomena, flooding, and tidal waves, calculated that the wind had to have blown at a sustained speed of 67 miles per hour to make the reef. Once the reef formed, he told the St. Petersburg Times, "It would take the Jews--there were 600,000 of them--four hours to cross the 4.2-mile reef that runs from one coast to another. Then, in half an hour, the waters would come back." The story says that when the Egyptian army followed them into the Red Sea, they drowned. "I am convinced that God rules the Earth through the laws of physics," he said.
The study, which took almost six months to complete is titled "Modeling of the Hydrodynamic Situation During the Exodus" and has been published in the Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Mark Grubarg, the head of the Jewish community in St. Petersburg, said the spiritual value of this miracle is immense for Jews.

i've noticed there are a lot of jw's in good standing on here these days... i know its a small sample but it seems promising.. any current circuit overseers/district overseers post on here, that would be crazy.
i think its pretty cool actually
Well, if they're caught posting on here they won't be in "good standing" much longer.

it isn't what jehovah's witnesses believe about the bible that has made them captives of a concept.
it is what they believe about the watchtower society that has done it.. there are two things that are necessary to compare.. 1) the society's interpretation of matthew 24:45--47, the most important scripture in watchtower theology.. with.
2) watchtower history as it relates to their interpretation of matthew 24:45--47, the most important event in watchtower history, 1919 jesus's appointment of them as god's organization.. from don cameron's book, "captives of a concept".. if you haven't read it yet, it's right up there with 'crises of conscience'.if you have loved ones that you want to help get out of this organization, this book is the key.. blueblades
I like watchtower magazine. it is very uplifting and encouraging with so much trash out here today it is rather good to read. plus is inspired by god so it must be good!
I'd answer but I'm still on the floor laughing.
biblicaly speaking that is.
we know their cult mentality with all its manipulation tactics and abusive authority is wrong.
but as far as their understanding of the bible, what do you believe they have right or wrong?.
I believe they have these things right:
..........................................................
These are my two main disagreements with the JW's:
I believe their acceptance of the Bible as God's word in every way is incorrect. THEN HOW CAN THEY BE RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING ABOVE. WHICH THEY SAY IS BASED ON THEIR ACCEPTANCE OF GODS WORD.
and...
I believe the Witnesses acceptance of the Apostle Paul's view of women and their place in the congregation is wrong.
