.
if you were ted jararczzz or some other gb member and you want to troll the jwd board,,, name some troll thread you'd start.
little imagination.
Could someone please tell me what I'm supposed to believe?
I can't keep up with all this "New Light".
as a wee damselfly in the late 70's/early 80's i loved the smurfs!
i watched the show and had the coloring book and the little plastic figures.
then some jw kid had a nightmare, it was taken as demonism and my smurfs were taken away!
Aaaarrrggghhh !!! Just what was it with American JW's and Smurfs.
Over here in Britain none of us gave them a second thought, they were just another bunch annoying of cartoon characters. Especially when "Father Abraham" brought that stupid Smurf song out.
Plenty of kids, even my own, watched them on TV and had Smurf , pens, notebooks, dolls, cups, some which they took to Kingdom Hall or assemblies. Not one person ever said a thing about them.
when we see news reports of jehovahs witnesses who are reported to have done something bad, what do we think?
sometimes people ridicule us for that.
obey and become his special property, disobey and be rejected.
rambaldi said: Was I referring to a religion? Not particularly. I was referring people who were in a relationship with God. Which they were. Since Jehovah's Witnesses today are in a relationship with God, it is a good way to refer to that.
This cannot be so. JW's cannot have a relationship with God because according to their own teaching only the "anointed" are in any form of relationship with God as only they have a mediatorship with Christ, and so with God.
You cannot have a relationship with anyone if youhave to go through another party to do so.

"The Household of God"
"The pillar and bulwark of the truth"
Not much different from what the Watchtower claims for itself.
in the 60's there was a bbc documentary called 7 up that followed a group of seven year olds at seven year intervals throughout there lives.
quite a few years ago i saw a u.s version and on it there was a dub grub who lived on a farm somewhere.
i never got to see any more of the shows and wondered if he grew up to give a good witness to american tv land or ended up going the predictable route that we have come to know and love.
Hey I was just thinking about this same program the other day and was wondering about the American JW kid.
Can't remember seeing any further programs .
Always remember my JW wife getting in a twist because they showed the JW kid on a farm using a gun to shoot at tin cans. She said "They can't be JW's beacuse they had guns".
i love it!.
love the take off, love the in-flight meal -yum!
- love the landing.
Yes, but my arms get tired after a while. (can't beat the old ones)
jehoovers?.
nope.. two yummy mormon missionaries?.
no.. two lovely baptist ladies.. i told them i was ex jw, and mentioned that the jws have this smugness that they think they are the only ones who go door to door.
The church I attend does an "Outreach" work door to door once a week, usually a Friday.
As an ex-JW I was interested on how they did it.
It was just a case of meeting at the church, deciding which roads would be working and setting off.
No briefcases or bags, no magazines or books. All we had each was a Bible.
We introduced ourselves as coming from the church and we had come to speak about Jesus Christ and salvation.
It was amazing the number of people who were willing to stand and talk about it. The whys and wherefores of Christian faith.
If they talked about problems they had, we let them, we prayed with them.
The guy I was with and I got invited in so many times on the road we worked.
It took us three weeks to call on each house. Some at first thought we were JW's but when finding out we weren't were quite happy to speak to us.
We put no pressure on anyone, we invited them to come to the church on a Sunday and see for themselves, and that was it.
About 8 people asked us to call again of which 5 are now regular attenders at the church.
It was so different from when being a JW. You were not concious that you were trying to fulfill a time or place a magazine etc. I was so much more relaxed doing it.
last night, a brother gave a talk, and referenced the sun.
in his talk he said two very interesting things:.
"the largest star in the universe, the sun provides light to the farthest reaching corners of our galaxy.
even funnier are the WT quotes of richard dawkins. it's pretty hard to take him out of context yet they found a way.
Richard Dawkins was on a TV discussion program here in Britain about a couple of weeks ago. The program was about religion and spirituality, late night program.
On it he said that though he believed in evolution there is no way that it can be proved that it occurs or has occured. Thats why its still called "the theory of evolution".
at one of the last bookstudies i ever attended i heard a comment that really struck home to me how desperate these people really are getting, to the edge of insanity.
an older woman commented, "you can tell the end is coming.. its in the air.. you can feel it.. there is something in the air.. times are just.. different" and the whole time she was manically glancing around the room.
the conductor agreed with her.
Last summer when my mother was staying with me she told me that my sister had said that they way they were talking at the assembly that it would probably be the last assembly before the big A.
LAST SUMMER!!! I wonder how they now feel seeing that another series of assemblies and conventions are happening. Probably deny they ever said such a thing.
what are some paranoid dub conspiracy theories that you've heard?
a dub i chatted with a week ago got all frothing-at-the-mouth excited as he told me one.
some people are trying to have a law passed in canada that will make any gay's who want to serve in a priesthood of their church allowable, regardless of the church's policy.
Something similar along those lines with JW's who leave. I recall a guy who was DF'd, his wife left him, buisness went bust, because many of his customers where JW's. The JW's of course where going round saying "See what happens when you leave Jehovah's organisation, Satan drags you down."
The guy spent the next 5 years building a buisness back up again. It fact he is now more successful than before, very wealthy in fact. What do the JW's say now. "See leave Jehovah's organisation, and Satan makes you a success in the world so you won't come back"
