May be a past local flood inspired the story in ancient Mesopotamia, but surely, the Jewish scribes tampered it in favor to their own theological agenda. We currently have many local floods in the world, however a global flood as told in the Bible did not happen, otherwise no one flesh would exist today. Furthermore, according to the Bible a global flood happened around 2300 before Christ, which could not justify today the existence of the diversity of species in the Amazon Jungle ( for instance). There are many flaws in that story to be true.

Did the flood happen?
by BlackWolf inso we were talking about noah for our family worship tonight and it ended with a little debate between me and my parents about how the flood was possible.
you know, where did the water come from, how did all the animals fit, etc.
of course it led nowhere and my parents came up with some strange theories like that there was "an expanse of water in the sky" and that's where all the water came from.

The most amazing pharoah in history yet he's not even mention in the bible!
by Crazyguy inhis name was unas, he started his rule in 2375 bce .
some how he found out about noah and his ark and i'm thinking around the year 2371 he travel to northern mesopotamia to get on the ark.
(wt says the flood happened 2370-2369 bce) either he bribed noah (since gods covenant was only for noah and his family) or he hid away on the ark.

The Noah's ark account is a fiction taken and tempered from Babylon.

There is a new letter to elders about Child Abuse
by ttdtt inanyone see that there is a long letter on how to handle child abuse?.

It seems to be the same error. The GB does not let the elders, by themselves, to report to the police the crime. They have to phone the Legal Department.

That Most Uneven of Judicial Procedures~The Gradual Lifting of Restriction After Reinstatement
by TMS inthose with substantial experience as jws will likely agree that judicial matters are handled with considerable inconsistency.
elders certainly vary in skill level, understanding, compassion or even knowledge of the talmudlike watchtower rules.
the punishment and, it is actually punishment, for similar offenses can result in anything from private or public reproof to disfellowshipping or sometimes an elder will choose to simply offer private counsel without even bringing the matter before the body of elders.

I also have to say that after attending two judiciary committees, the first for other person, and the second for judging me, I had no more trust in talking to an elder about personal issues. I realized that most of the elders feel an insane orgasm due to their inquiries on sexual issues. They want to know every detail.

I was disfellowshipped in Argentina, then I was reinstated in Brazil (many years ago), but it took just 18 months of attendance. Then, when reinstated, I did not know that I could not give public comments. So I gave a public answer on a question of the Watchtower's Study. Then, the elders called me and told me that I must not do that, because I have to wait until the elders decide to give me back the privilege of public comments. So, I was shocked, because what kind of reinstatement was that??...So, I started to note that the Watchtower religion was a religion of humiliation, ...in which you must frequently be notified that you are nothing and sinner before Jehovah's Organization.
Fortunately, now I know TTATT.

According to the Watchtower's Insight Encyclopedia :
The catastrophic destruction of men and animals by an overwhelming flood in the days of Noah, 2370 B.C.E. This greatest cataclysm in all human history was sent by Jehovah because wicked men had filled the earth with violence. The survival of righteous Noah and his family, eight souls in all, together with selected animals, was by means of a huge ark, or chest.—Ge 6:9–9:19; 1Pe 3:20;
So, the Bible book of Genesis says in chapter 10 (according to the New International Version):
This is the account of Shem, Ham and Japheth, Noah’s sons, who themselves had sons after the flood....The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put and Canaan.....Egypt was the father of the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites, Pathrusites, Kasluhites (from whom the Philistines came) and Caphtorites.
Therefore, the book of Genesis tells us that the egyptians became to exist after the Flood, after 2370 BC. Nevertheless, the Egyptian Museum in Cairo recently began putting on display the country's oldest papyruses, which date back 4500 years (2500 BC), detailing the daily life of the pyramid-builders. So, this papyrus is somewhat older than the biblical Flood. The earliest known evidence of Egyptian hieroglyphic inscriptions appeared during the predynastic period on Naqada III pottery vessels, dated to about 3200 BC. But this should'nt be a suprise, because due to the evidence of rock carvings along the Nile terraces and in desert oases, in the 10th millennium BC, a culture of hunter-gatherers and fishers was replaced by a grain-grinding culture. Climate changes or overgrazing around 8000 BC began to desiccate the pastoral lands of Egypt, forming the Sahara. Early tribal peoples migrated to the Nile River where they developed a settled agricultural economy and more centralised society. So, how could ancient egyptians exist around 8000 BC, if the Bible says that there were no egyptians before 2370 BC ?https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egypt

Governing Body Anthony Morris gives talk at convention. Child refuses blood dies

The Watchtower Society propagates the idea that blood transfusions are like rape. So if you permit a blood transfusion you would be accepting fornication:
========================================================
*** w91 6/15 p. 31 Questions From Readers ***
We can appreciate, then, why the young Christian mentioned on page 17 told a court that "she considered a transfusion an invasion of her body and compared it to rape." Would any Christian woman, young or old, passively submit to rape, even if there were a legal grant that the fornication by sexual assault be carried out?

My Take on the Convention
by xjwsrock in4300 in attendance - 17 baptized.
odd mix of congregations assigned, i'm sure to throw off any scent of a decline.. no distinction made whatsoever between loyalty to jehovah god and loyalty to the watchtower bible and tract society.
the convention is riddled with parts whipping up your love for the creator and jesus, with a quick reminder that the wbts are their gatekeepers.. parallels are implied constantly between israel and jehovah's witnesses.

Interestingly, the Hebrew Scriptures are conveniently reconfigured by the Governing Body so as to be applied to the Watchtower Society. The Bible is used to support many absurdities.
