I notice a struggle for life in the comments, that's possible but that doesn't change the facts that it is hard work at Bethel. I hope you don't have to work that hard when your 75 plus old. The question of TS was their daily routine, I just gave my insight of my personal experience, that's all. Not why they want that kind of life. I live mine, hope to retire in five years at 60 and move to my home on the tropical island where I worked so hard as a missionary. C'est ca.

Governing Body at Bethel and their daily routine
by Tenacious ini never had the privilege to serve at bethel .. therefore, community help is greatly appreciated friends.. do the gb members have their own living quarters separate from the average jw?.
does their "busy" schedule permit field service, if yes, how many hours a month?.
how long are their weekly wednesday meetings?.

The Watchtower Writers Blame the Rank-and-File For Failed Prophecy, Why so Evil the Writers/
by SanLuisObispoTruthSeeker inwho is to blame jehovahs witnesses and the bible students believing the end was coming in 1914?
ive been reading lots of older magazines and they are so different from todays watchtower!
the current writers from the organization blame everyone except themselves for failed expectations, failed prophecy, "financial ruin and dependance on the goverment "old age social security and medicaid" on their rank-and-file members.

Yes I did Shirley, on saturdays, long walks, a habit from missionary-work, walking many miles. But frankly I was only impressed by the low prices of shops. The parks weren't that impressive, I liked the zoo though.. I am just not a city guy, so I see it as a disadvantage. I liked Patterson 10 times better, especialky in autumn.

I mean, Datadog mention it like an advantage living in NY. Imo, it is a noisy, concrete city, No nature etc. I came out of a tropical missionary assignment and just could not adjust to a life in NY.

@ Datadog.
What do they earn by having "followers"? The best food???? Eating corn with your meal for weeks because this was donated, here in Europe that's food for pigs. City living, disgusting NY, unhealthy, no trees no nature, every night a 100 different garbidge-trucks through your street. Health insurance...well I never lived without it. I wonder if you ever worked at Bethel, the routine is killing, imagine for 75+ people .Don't understand me wrong I left the organization and don't agree with their teachings and practics, but the posts about their wealth and cars and special life are rubbish, from people who never knew one member of the GB, or have been in Brooklyn.

@Tenecious:
No they live among the rest of bethelites. Sometimes larger rooms because of their seniority.
They go out on field-service. I found Pierce every saturday in the Bossert library conducting Bille studies.
Don't know about the wedness meeting.
They are not being told what to do so they could permit them selves quite Some privileges, never noted any special things.
Generally speaking, they are hard working old men (in the nineties, most of them have died) , and I wouldn't have their routine for a million a year at that age.

Brother Knorr's Cadillac and other secret perks
by tim hooper inback when i was a wee lad, my dad told me that the brothers in brooklyn had voted to purchase a cadillac motor car for the sole use of the then president, nathan h knorr.
he'd got this information from the london bethel, him being a chum of the then branch overseer, pryce hughes and his pal ron drage.
religious leaders of non-profit sects are supposed to take a vow of poverty!.

Again, I don't see the point in using them a Cadillac. It's crap. And @ Juanviejo, don't compare a 7series with any US car please, that's a whole different world.
Co's here in Europe drive modest cars, VW Golf, for example. The branch people have to Buy their OWN cars, mostly older modest cars. And their are cars owned by the society to pick up people, slightly larger but no luxury cars as BMW, MB, Bently etc.

Window-washer is the cover of Feb 2015 WT, "How to enjoy your work!" Hahaha!!
by EndofMysteries in.
after all the jokes and satire on this website about jw's only being able to amount to window washers and house cleaners, the cover page of "how to enjoy your work" showing a window washer and cleaner in the back ground.
i almost wonder if some awakened, still-in, from this site is part of the writing department or illustrations and put that in there as an inside joke for us?.

Governing Body meetings
by JWOP injohannes greber's book "communication with the spirit word of god -- it's laws and purpose" states that, in order to seek god's truth one must cummunicate with the spirit world on a regular basis.
according to the governing body, they get their teachings from those who have died and been resurrected to heaven (the watchtower, jan. 1, 2007, p.28, para.11).
also, it was published that the gb meets on a regular basis, every wednesday (the watchtower, may 15, 2008, p.29).
