Brother Rutherford meant nothing more than what Jesus meant when he said things like:
“EVERYONE WHO LIVES AND BELIEVES IN ME WILL NEVER DIE. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?.” (John 11:26)
pay attention to what you are told, and how it is presented.. what is the actual message being communicated?
what is the intention behind it?.
this 128-page book millions now living will never die, was placed with the people on a contribution of 25c a copy.. .

materialists continue to dismiss the notion of immortality of soul, calling it as bull-shit.
however film industry is least bothered about such ridicule as they know that most people are fascinated by the idea that we have a soul that survives the physical death (of the body).
latest in the series is the movie (if i stay, warner bros. pictures, directed by r j cutler, released last friday) that revolves around the heroine having an out of the body experience.
Listners may not benefit, and may even call those who have undergone NDEs or OBEs crazy. However, those who had such experiences begin to lead a better life, they become better humans!

"a 9-year-old girl learning to fire a submachine gun accidentally killed her instructor at a shooting range when the weapon recoiled over her shoulder, according to arizona authorities.
another reason to go against those arguing that young children should be taught how to use guns.
Gun culure has gone too far that a reversal is almost impossible!

She is caught in between a choice: should she stay among the living or move on with the departed?
It is interesting to find Movies delving into serious questions like why God permits suffering. For example, an old Swedish film The Seventh Seal written and directed by Ingmar Bergman. Set in Sweden during the bubonic plague pandemic, or Black Death, it tells the story of the journey of a disillusioned medieval knight, Antonius Block, returning from the Crusades and his meeting with Death that has come for his life.
Actually Block encounters Death, personified as a black-cowled figure resembling a monk. Block, who's in the middle of a chess game he's been playing alone, challenges Death to a match, believing that he can forestall his doom as long as the game continues. Death agrees and they start a new game. In between, Block suddenly asks, “Is it so cruelly inconceivable to grasp God with the senses? Why should He hide himself in a mist of half-spoken promises and unseen miracles? What is going to happen to those of us who want to believe but aren't able to? “Death doesn't answer.”
Movie thus presents the view that God will not answer such questions as they are already available from the nature itself. If we have senses, it will not prove some superior Being with senses does not exist. If scriptures contain half-spoken promises, it means such promises have not been made by God in the first place, but attributed to Him; if miracles happened only in the past but do not happen now, it means they have never happened in the past too …. Why does He permit suffering on earth? This question presupposes that people expect Him to reduce them into robots (something that no humans would like) incapable of learning anything new from the experieces. He has nothing to do with suffering on earth—it’s all consequences of action each one chooses; and this is the only way for humans to learn and to grow upward! Experience is the teacher, and experiences are available to everyone in abundance!
i was in the den when the old lady yell, "your friends are here".. at the door stood a jw.
hi sir (no good morning sir) we have a web site,.
jw.org in different languages.
Just enjoy the show, good in this fast paced world!
it's really fascinating to discover the similarities in ancient texts, in another thread howthebiblewascreated pointed out similarities in the epic of gilgamesh and genesis 8... as a naive jw, i feared, and viewed hinduism as a polytheistic religion that essentially worshipped demons.. to my relative surprise, hinduism actually started off as a form monotheism, viewing brahman as the creater and god of the universe.
as judaism transitioned from a strict monotheistic religion to what is now called christianity, simply claiming that god manifests himself as multiple gods, hinduism now does the same.
in any case i'm very naive as to the beliefs of hinduism, so i won't discuss that any more.. comparing two ancient texts : the book of enoch & mahabharata a crazy narrative is found... 87.2 and i raised my eyes again to heaven, and saw in the vision, and behold, there came from heaven beings that were like white men.
Good observation!

the message for those babies who are now in their 30's and 40's is that "we warned your parents about a date that meant nothing!".
how does that wash credibility-wise?.
Terry,
Good point.
Forget about 58 million UNBORN. Given the present rate they witness in the South Asian countries, it would take 1000s of years to give a fair chance to people who are alreay born and adults now!
religions, in general, did not inspire people to be good, because the means they used was illogicality.
for example: one religion teaches: humans became sinners through one man, and would become righteous through another man.
no answer!
We have come a long way from that original meaning of the word spiritual. Using the words such as SPIRIT of the article, novel, movies ……and keeping the law in its letter and SPIRIT are all everyday use in the vocabulary of people. Such uses are thousand years of old. Hence Galatians 5:25, 26 contrasts spiritual with egotistical.

and they make references to hundreds of prophecies that were fulfilled on jesus.

JWs say their authority is the Bible, and the most important reason they attribute to Bible as being inspired of God is its meticulously precise foretelling ability! And they make references to hundreds of prophecies that were fulfilled on Jesus.[This is a claim normally people would NOT cross-check, hence it came up to this time unoppossed. If we read the supposed Hebrew verse with its context, we will be surprised to see they are not at all prophecies or do not even talk about Jesus.
Forget about prophecies about Jesus. Let us take a prophecy Jesus himself made, really an unambiguous prophecy, found in John 11:26: “EVERYONE WHO LIVES AND BELIEVES IN ME WILL NEVER DIE. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?.” Where has this prophecy been fulfilled? It should have been fulfilled in the first century itself as belief in Jesus started then. Even after 2000 years, it remains as a joke! Adherents may say the context is about resurrection of his friend Lazarus. If so, why should Lazarus, being Jesus’s friend who had already been believing in him, die in the first place? All right, if resurrection is what Jesus had in mind he would have DEFINITELY worded it differently, something like this: “Everyone who lives and believes in Me will die but will be resurrected at the appointed time. Do you believe this?” If it were with Lazarus in his mind that he uttered that prophecy, he would not have used the wording: “EVERYONE WHO LIVES AND BELIEVES IN ME will never die.”
Interestingly, the only prophecy that was fulfilled really BACKFIRES on the very advocates of prophetic cause of the Bible. Luke 21:8 says: "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and, 'The time is near. 'Do not follow them.”
Fulfillment:” Many” thousands of sects—including JWs—DID come in the authority of his name, saying “The time is near” and still operate on the world scene!. JWs claim even a direct appointment from Jesus, thus taking his NAME in a special way that gives them authority even to call other religions—including Christendom a harlot. (Remember in the 90’s, one Watchtower magazine with a harlot picture as its cover page).
