Why attack?
by newqatarjob inas someone brought up as a jw and been an elder and been disfellowshipped (twice!!!
) i find it difficult to understand why ex jws have to attack the religion, yes religion, not cult or sect.
i am no longer disfellowshipped just do not want to practice anymore.

Do Dubbers hate the internet?
by dogon inor at least fear it?
i know many of the young seem to be on it, but i also know many of the old dubbers seem to distrust it and think it leads to bad outcomes.
how many dubbers that are old that are dark on the web while their kids are all over it.

Most of the older members of my congregation seem to be afraid of it. And they think that most websites are designed by Satan just to lure witnesses away from the org.... No joke. -

A Question for Underground Apostates, How Many Are There?
by Village Idiot inwhen i first came to this forum i was of the belief that those of us who were still in due to family reasons were few in numbers perhaps one in a thousand in the jws.
soon i came to the realization that there were many more.
we have dozens of posters here who are mentally out but still in.

What is dating as a JW like
by UFCFan infirst off i want to say that i'm a teenager which makes my situation interesting.
i don't want to give too many details in case someone i know reads this but i'm between 14 and 18, homeschooled, and i've been awake for around one or one and a half years.
i already have a plan to attend usc or wisconsin university if i'm smart enough to get in and then move to san jose and try and get a job working for a hs football team or with a soccer team, since i want to coach sports or be an agent.. now, this all sounds great in theory but there's one thing i've been thinking about that makes me doubt my plan.

Well yes, I wouldn't be aiming to just lead her on and then throw her away, and she knows that I'm moving to San Jose sooner or later(though when depends on if I get to college or not). I have heard about how the elders act when it comes to to these kinds of things, if we do start dating I'll try to keep it unofficial for as long as possible so the congregation and elders aren't trying to follow us everywhere.
EDIT: For some reason parts of my posts keep disappearing...

Yes, because one day I was bored at home and instead of doing something productive I decided to pose as a homeschooled teenager to wind up everyone on JWN with a long well written post with totally fake info.
In all seriousness, homeschoolers generally are better writers then kids from public school.

That's because I'm not wasting four years of my life unless I'm sure it's going to help me become a football coach. The plan is to become a student assistant at USC or Wisconsin and then use that experience to either get a grad assistant job with one of those programs, get a staff job in JUCO or D3, or preferably, get a staff role with one of the big high school football teams in California.

Yes, the learning disability I have is diagnosed, which is part of the reason I'm homeschooled in the first place.
I decided what to do, I'll follow my plan if I'm able too, which isn't guaranteed. I have VERY specific career plans and the ONLY schools I want to go to are USC and Wisconsin, if I can't get into either of those I won't go at all. My career plans will most likely still work without college if I move to California but I imagine I'd have to stay home a few years after finishing high school before moving, and if that happens I'll try dating. I know I'd have to pretend to be a Witness and stuff but it doesn't really bother me anymore, I've become good at pretending to be happy at meetings and field service when I'm actually not.
So either she turns out to be a normal girl like I'm thinking she might, or things won't go well and I'll be moving away soon anyway.

Iggy,
I most likely am naive, I've never had friends outside the org, but I'm much more street smart then anyone gives me credit for. I can generally read people like a book, I'm hoping that helps me out in the real world later even though I don't have experience being around non dubs.
