I sometimes have a look around the 'faith room' at uni.
There are often a pair of watchtower and awake magazines there.
Sometimes, I take the magazines home, have a read to see what type of bullsh1t is contained therein, then trash them.
It sure gives a good feeling to read them without rose-tinted WTS specs on, and critically analyse them.
The feeling I get from trashing them comes a close second.

i am not going to claim to be any kind of bible expert or a good writer or anything like that but do you ever notice how the wts has completely whitewashed this idea or anything relating to this..
from the beginning of the bible in the beginning god said let us make man in our own image , to the term elohim which literally means gods , to the angel of the lord in the old testament which is identified to being with god and god himself.
it is just kind of interesting when you read the book of john in the new testament and you start to read things like the word was with god and the word was god or no one has seen the father only the son it kind of makes sense without really fully understanding it.

To the OP - of course there are nice things to say about the witnesses. My friends that I had in the org were decent people. They didn't smoke, do illegal drugs or swear. So, obviously the vast majority of witnesses are not monsters.
However, one must distinguish between JWs and the WTS. It's the WTS, the JW hierarchy, that's really rotten.
Unfortunately, there are plenty of serious issues caused by different WTS policies.
There's the refusal of blood transfusions, the paedophile problem and the irrational rejection of higher ed.
These policies result in death, all types of abuse, and economic slavery/poverty to ordinary JWs that are only doing what they believe to be right.
And it's absolutely disgusting, I'm sure you'll agree.
