Four Blood Moons might be significant
by CharlieSmith1975 inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuqzhnx7xma.
the bible does say that the "day of jehovah" (armageddon) would be associated with the sun becoming dark followed by the moon turning to blood.
but the moon turning to blood is specific to a total lunar eclipse.

Splash - that post was unnecessary and in bad taste, IMO. -

Charlie/larsinger - being transgendered and in the WTS must've been a total nightmare. Have you thought about seeing a counsellor?
All the best
Take care

Are we going to see a mass awakening?
by kairos inthe internet is the archive for civilization.. watchtower cannot hide it's history.. are we seeing the beginning of a mass exodus out of her?.

I agree with the OP that the WTS cannot hide its history because of the internet.
The internet seems to have played a major role in helping people see 'the truth' for what it is.
But will that lead to 'a mass awakening'? I find that hard to believe.

Why I became agnostic after leaving the Watchtower
by donny inone of many things that led me to agnosticism after leaving the jw's was the cognitive dissonance i encountered with those in the mainstream churches, especially the really conservative ones.
these types would scream out in protest (rightly so) on all of the current atrocities going on in the world regarding islam and its radical extremists, but then justify the savage murders and slaughter perpetuated by israel in the old testament.. often i would take these passages and replace the names and places of these scriptures with current ones.
for example 1 samuel 15:3 reads "now go, attack the amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them.

Good OP, Donny.
I've also become agnostic since leaving the WTS.
For me, as I was leaving, it was the case that the brothers copied the WTS and regularly criticised 'Christendom' but stayed silent on Islamic terrorism. I mean, how can celebrating xmas or easter be worse that suicide bombing or decapitation?! When I put this to a young brother, this was his reply: 'but they're not real muslims. True muslims believe the same as us'
I could have followed this up with ' so, will muslims worship Allah in mosques in the new system?' or 'will Jehovah destroy the religion of Islam at Armageddon?' but there's only so much bullsh1t I can take.

REASON demands belief in God
by abiather init has been the history of mankind that they proceed from the crude to the subtle in all spheres of life: they seek the subtle amidst the crude, and in the subtle, they seek the subtlest.
when hunger is extinguished, humans looked for art.
ancient humans appreciated the harmony of music; they also liked to dance in joy.

When hunger is extinguished, humans looked for art - we can live without art (and religion) but we can't live without meeting our nutritional requirements.
Therefore eating and drinking must be more important than either art or religion.

When did you realize evolution was true?
by Coded Logic in) which person/source first made you reconsider your position on creationism?.
) how long a period of time did it take to fully convince you?.
) what books and videos did you read and watch?.
-
LoveUniHateExams
1. I was 30.
2. Richard Dawkins.
3. I was fully convinced in about a week.
4.The book that really did it for me was The Blind Watchmaker. I started reading it critically to see if Dawkins would persuade me. He consistently pointed out that creationists misrepresented the process driving evolution, and had reasonable answers to their criticisms. In the end, I read about 2/3 of it.
5. I know biology somewhat better than before as I'm a Biology student and in my final year, and I'm doing well in my degree. But, TBH, I'm just a beginner.

Why Armageddon Now?
by Garrett ini've been thinking and here's what i've come up with.
correct me if i'm wrong, but in the bible does it not state that the word would have to be preached throughout the entire inhabited earth for a witness to all people and then the end would come?.
with the world being as vast as it is today, it would be practically impossible for the witnesses to speak to everyone in the world.

Why Armageddon Now? - with the WTS, it's always 'Armageddon now'. The Russellites thought the big A would come in 1914/15, Rutherford thought it would come in 1925, Franz thought it would come in 1975, and the current overlords think it will come 'very soon'.
If there was no 'Armageddon' in the scriptures, there would be no WTS.

This is why I don't see the Neanthertal's skull as a human one - Neanderthals are placed within the genus Homo. They're an early type of human.
