  @Vidiot - perhaps if immigrants and ethnic minorities were encouraged to abandon their ancestral cultures and fully adopt British cultures, 'cultural enclaves' would not be such an issue in British cities.

  Just a thought.

  Ok, same question slightly adjusted: given that you are less than impressed with christian, and that multiculturalist ideology is deeply flawed and has no democratic mandate, what culture should the UK have?

  You may have misunderstood the situation in the UK. The cultural enclaves in UK cities are a direct result of enforced multiculturalist ideology.

  however, if you had already sold that property on the previous day (which this messenger is ignorant of), you are likely to respond, saying: shop is not mine..

  @tal - I agree that wars on poverty and hunger are very difficult to fight.

  you can't fight a war on poverty, when capitalists are running the world - I don't know about this, but capitalism done responsibly is the best humans can do, IMO.

  I notice that you chose not to deal with my points on terrorism.

  You must concede that terrorism is more than an idea. It can be fought - by supporting peshmerga and Iraqi soldiers and by airstrikes.

  There is no WAR - a quick glance around the world proves otherwise.

  in a previous posting i made the statement that the governing body were the world's ultimate predators.

  i will now give some reasons why this may be so.. for the purpose of this post i will provide the following definitions: .

  - predator - a human who lives by predation.

  I agree with Morpheus.

  For me, primary examples of ultimate predators are Crocodylus porosus and C. niloticus. Other examples would be Smilodon, Lycaon pictus and Mantis religiosa.

  The GB are made up of clowns that not only shouldn't be left alone with children but also couldn't organize a piss-up in a brewery.

  there was a statue outside the rhodes university.

  a 30 year old black student then threw his pooh on the statue and that got the ball rolling to pull the statue down.

  the board of this university built also gives out burseries and grants to previously disadvantaged black south africans and not disadvantaged black south africans.. there has been a huge debate in the country and now the statue has been removed.

  Interesting OP, Louise. I feel it's a real shame when some black people can't seem to draw a line under the past. Some black people, even in the UK or USA, still seem to view themselves as slaves. I know it's easy for me to say it, but these kinds of attitudes do no good and won't help them in the long run. Indeed, these attitudes have lead to a grown man throwing his own faeces at a statue he didn't like.

  Where does one draw the line? - exactly. I once worked with a black Jamaican Rastafarian. When he saw me drinking tea, he commented about how tea and sugar involved slavery. This is correct, but the way he commented seemed to suggest that tea should be boycotted due to past slavery!

  I deeply admire the many black people who rise above this nonsense, believe themselves to be as good as the next person, and achieve things in their lives.

  I've been reading this thread with interest and would like to add one point:

  I feel that, as EdenOne has not mentioned antitheism at all, he might be confusing antitheists (those for whom atheism isn't enough and so oppose belief in god/gods and/or deny the existence of god) with atheists.

  Just a thought.

The severed heads of James Foley, Stephen Sotloff, David Haines , Alan Henning and thousands of others - Syrians, Iraqis, Libyans, Egyptians and Nigerians, show that multiple terrorist groups (Boko Haram, Al Shabaab, Jabhat Al Nusra, ISIS, Al Qaeda and others) are at war with the civilized world.

  there is no WAR that will cure these ills, only a sea change of the world view - this smacks of naivety.
