Oh, and by the way, even if the day should come when the Tower crumbles, I wouldn't get too overjoyed. Judging by history, when the WT falls dozens of other offshoots will spring up to take its place
Or, just like other companies that get forced out of business, they often lay low for awhile then reemerge under a different name.

The JW religion will end when they can no longer turn a profit. As long as people keep donating money, they will exist in one form or another.
I don't remember exactly what WT article it was, but it was back in the earl 50's I believe when they changed their stance on refusing vaccinations. As I recall their words were, We can no longer AFFORD to enforce our position on vaccinations. That is not a verbatim quote, but they did say "no longer afford".
They will continue morphing to accommodate inconvenient laws and the flow of $$'s.
earlier in the week someone posted the potential value of the jw website based on visits and if they used advertisements.
many stated they would never do that but i propose they could.. besides their real estate profit making business model, they have the conventions as cash generating machines.
they give directions to their members to which hotels/motels to use.

Never say never. No matter what I thought of JW's, good or bad, I truly NEVER would have believed that they would allow rock n roll, hip hop music AND dancing inside the Kingdom Hall. Now I'm a believer...
with all the terrible things happening on this earth, i bet most witnesses feel that jehovah god has to step in..
About 10 years ago we had Hurricane Katrina and the tsunami overseas. News journalists and pundants (as well as many everyday average citizens) were describing these events as "of BIBLICAL proportions". I don't even have to suggest to you what the average JW was thinking.
And of course, this was just a few years after 9/11. A lot of people, not just JW's, were thinking "this has just got to be the end!"
Well within the next ten years there will be new events, bigger events, that will have people believing that "this has just got to be the end!"

I kind of had a mental picture of Dick Cheney addressing the prisoners at Gitmo:
Cheney: "Okay men, the choice is yours. You can be subjected to water boarding, or you can begin attending the meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses at the Kingdom Hall!"

In all seriousness, NO, no victim of ISIS or Al Quaeda would compare what they went through with life in the JW's.
But, psychologically speaking, there is a real similarity between the two. ISIS carries out their physical punishment, while the WT plants the seeds in their members minds, and sometimes it can lead to death (as others have mentioned, through suicide or having blood transfusions forcibly denied).

I can testify that JW's most certainly DO torture. When I was about 15 years old I had to sit through a 7 Day International Assembly!!! If I had the choice of that or waterboarding.....! Let's just say, a three day assembly is torture enough!

one has upscale retail stores and owns a property development company.
the other has a large service company and owns a lot of real estate.

Why would a poor working shmuck like me constantly be criticized because my hair was touching my collar, and yet Brother "PRINCE" is welcomed with open arms and praised by other JDubs? Ask a JW about "PRINCE" and watch them immediately change the subject. I haven't seen an AWAKE article that was critical of his music. (In all fairness though, I have to admit it's been quite a few years since I've read an AWAKE).

if jw isn't the right religion, then which one is?
or is it basically believe in god, the bible and you'll be fine?.

Your last paragraph brought back an old memory. Back in the 70's a "brother" that I worked with would get angry and refuse the Christmas cookies that some of the ladies in the office would bring by. However, another "brother" who worked there would gladly accept the Christmas cookies. But, before he would eat the cookies he would scrape the ornamental icing off of them. Uum-good!
This really ticked off "brother" #1. I don't know if the humor comes across in print, but to see it in person was hilarious!!!
