The wife and were talking. That whole meeting was "Fluff". I have to agree with her that the meeting was brilliant!
They got ALL the old ladies who are normally on telephone tie-in to come to the Halls and CONTRIBUTE!!!! ONE Million JWs x $10.00-$40.00 ea. They got an INSTANT WAR CHEST to kill future bad publicity with quick ONE MILLION DOLLAR hush money settlements to Pedophile victims.
The news stories and BIG WINS this last year is hurting them. They Governing Body does NOT want to testify. Quick Quiet SETTLEMENTS is the best way to put this to bed NOW.

Over the years C.O. treatment seemed to swing back and forth depending on how much power they were given by HQ.
In the 60s they were Gods and always looking for green handshakes. 3rd Gens Dad gave Jeracz $10,000. Afterwards he called him "Teddy".
In the late 70s they seemed to be just another "Elder" for years. Some Elder bodies just blew them off. I was sent to a congregation "Need was great" where most of elder body just decided to no longer go in service. The C.O. could do nothing- he had no power, and told me so.
A few years later they became Gods again and the CO hit me up for $$, expensive lunches and Golf expenses. I declined.
About 15 years ago they lost power again - and I watched a local CO have no power when a Body of Elders (mostly a couple of families) had wife swapping between cousins who were Elders and MS and everyone got private reproof. The C.O. was told to pound salt when he tried to break up the hall and remove the elders. The Elders told the desk the C.O. must have dementia and be imagining things. Nothing happened and no one was disfellowshipped or removed!!!!! At that time I knew elders who PLANNED vacations to avoid COs in other halls and in my family.
I have no idea what things are like this year.

Watchtower land is in a time warp. I think the CO & WTBTS might be caught off guard if they had to face off against a female Attorney, Female Psychologist, and possibly a female Family Court Judge while trying to enforce cult beliefs on a woman protecting her female children.
If the Elders are trying to Slander you,disparage you as a parent, and break -up your marriage..in some US states they still have "Alienation of Affection" laws. Just thinking out loud.
Kudos to you giving them something to think about and standing up for your children.
Of course the CO has nothing to loose, and may get hard nosed and tell them to treat you like a "Jezzebel" or an "Apostate" who is "walking disorderly".
Last I heard, Elders were told to STOP judicial cases when threatened by attorneys and forward them to the Service Desk...where they tended to disappear in an overfilled in-box.
