I don't know your hubby, but as a one-time true believer, it was the realization that the organization was not "spirit directed" or "godly".....ever. Simple stuff...like the organization LIES knowingly...the simple question "who is the father of the lie?"(simple act of fraudulent accounts reading at conventions, child abuse, theocratic strategies). Is it ever right to defraud widows and orphans? Yes-No? (borrowing and never returning $$) Is god all powerful...or confused...changing his mind yearly like Watchtower? Jesus said: "by their fruits, you shall know them"- what fruitage does Watchtower display? Reading actual early Watchtower publications on Barbra Anderson's site.. the Nutty stuff Russel and Rutherford printed. Ray Franze's books. Stay away from never-ending theological dates, how many angels can dance on a pinhead, the Bible, and how many reindeer does really Santa have. Baby steps.

Has anyone heard of "Secret Disfellowshipping" by Jehovah's Witnesses? Menlo Park Ca. Congregation. Update.
by Balaamsass inno doubt everyone has been following the juan viejo postings regarding the watchtower kingdom hall "grab" on jwn for the last couple of years.
called the mrs and me to say "wow- you have to google this" we did...came here to jwn ...became members..and the rest is history.. in the last nine months i have been calling and emailing contacts in the silicon valley for verification on the societies theft and forced sale of the menlo park kingdom hall (near the new facebook heaquarters) because the story seemed...a little far fetched.
every reliable contact i made has confirmed what juan reported.

Of special interest to me is the North Palo Alto Congregation that sits outside the gates of Stanford University at 429 High Street, Palo Alto. That hall must be worth upwards of 3-5 Million dollars now. Most of the Menlo Park Congregation land grab refugees from four years ago were shipped to this hall (see old posts on this). I wonder how they will take this part two.
40 years ago "true believers" felt hundreds of "truth seeking Stanford Students would attend that hall and become Watchtower Doctors and Attorneys. 16,000+ kids a year graduate from Stanford. The number of those kids hoodwinked over the last 40 years to work for Watchtower......zero. lol.
Updated info appreciated.

So, the Womens March ... What Is It For?
by Simon init seems like mobilizing after the election, which seems pointless.
i keep hearing demands for equal rights but don't understand what rights they are missing exactly.. normally a march is to show the support (and potential votes) for a cause, but ... votes for what?
... and the election happened already.. is anyone else confused?

TV commercial seen in the United States, from a Law firm "Asking if you were ever sexually abused by JEHOVAHS WITNESSES, please call".
by Dunedain inok, so i don't know if this is "old news", and if this has been seen, and or mentioned already.
if it was, i do apologize, but i feel i have to mention what has been seen on tv, within the past 24 hours.. first off, i would like to say that i did not personally see this commercial.
however, it was seen by someone that i can verify 100% is telling the truth, as it was my own father who saw it.

A consortium of law firms. http://www.childsexabuse.org/about-us/
If they have copies of Service desk instructions and forms and prior court testimony many of the cases will become paint by numbers.

With a 20% rise in gas prices Mexicans have taken to the streets in riots this week.
About a year ago the exchange rate was 13 Pesos to the dollar, now it is 20 Pesos. Yes, a Peso is now worth a US nickel.
For every dollar Mexico sends to the USA $10 flows to Mexico, mostly from illegal ex pats (per PEW). Four years of Trump may bring about revolution in Mexico. For the last 100 years unhappy Mexicans have simply left for the US, without that pressure release valve because of Visa requirements and a tighter border, expect massive civil unrest.
Watchtower is doing a cut and run. SELL SELL SELL

The con is completed - comments from the US branch's LDC chief
by sir82 inrecently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.
it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.
he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

I know of THREE high-powered financial analysts JWs in just California who have been going back and forth to Bethel the last 3+ years.
Obviously, they have been doing heavy pruning of financial deadwood and realizing profits. They have been involved in offshore financial transactions for many years and have bought a private airport based very close to Swiss banks in the Bahamas. They are invited to restricted hedge fund conventions.
Lots of benefits to generating a steady investment cash flow that can not be seized or inspected by any court, news agency, or government.

Follow the $$$ money...........
Investments in 3rd world Mexico are risky in good times....with Trump in office for the next four years...suicidal?
This last 12 months the Mexican Peso has declined in value almost 30% to the dollar. The Mexican branch real estate has lost value in real dollars, and I doubt it will improve anytime soon. Watchtower may simply be cutting losses.

You have done great so far. YOU MOVED.
Don't rock the boat. Come late, leave early, come infrequently if at all. smile, say polite but nebulous things..."Thanks' for worrying about me" "Sure sounds good...let me check my schedule and get back to you...." "Sorry but I have to work that day, or "I think I am out of town that day"...etc. Polite...but unavailable.
If you are not creating problems 90% of elders are to busy to even think about you.
Use your answering machine and caller ID....NEVER answer the phone from elders in a timely manner. Never answer the door. Simply learn what the public has done for years....home but hiding, turn on the shower, flush the toilet.... If they really pin you down, be busy at the suggested time and offer an alternate time that is inconvenient, 8 am, 9 pm, etc. :)
