Lawyers release survey on alleged Jehovah's Witness child abuse
by Tahoe ina team of lawyers has released the results of its survey on alleged child abuse by members of the jehovah's witnesses religious group in japan.. the team held a news conference in tokyo on monday.
it provides legal support to former members of the group as well as to children of its members.. the lawyers conducted the survey, following the publishing of the health and welfare ministry guidelines last year about child abuse related to parents' religious beliefs.
a total of 560 people responded.. the survey shows 81 percent of the respondents said they had cards indicating they desired to refuse blood transfusions.. the ministry's guidelines state that parents' refusal of medical treatments for children on religious grounds amounts to neglect --- a form of abuse.. the lawyers said investigations are necessary to find how many people died from refusing blood transfusions, and how many of them were children.. the survey also shows 92 percent of the respondents experienced whipping, 96 percent were banned from school activities, and 93 percent were forced to limit their human relations.. the lawyers said many of the children experienced physical and mental abuse, which afterward led to problems such as loneliness, sense of alienation and a lack of self-esteem.

I remember as an Elder book and study conductor being instructed by HQ in a letter to annually check publisher's cards.
It was used as an ID at a few conventions to receive JW-only publications.

I was sitting in class—3rd grade. The Principal put the news feed on the school intercom.
My dad a non JW, was glued to the TV. He loved Kennedy. A Guadalcanal WW2 vet he had the highest regard for ballsy PT boat crews. Very sad and upset.
Mom, a JW, said "It's just a sign of the times...the Russians did it! Armageddon is around the corner!" Not sad.

I wasted two days pulling state and federal filings for some Watchtower corporations. It was wasted because I realized they were phony. Some of the entries were simply copied from previous years...impossible...therefore BS.
Yes, they filed the forms...but the numbers were bogus...hiding behind freedom of Religion...a middle finger to the state and IRS.

Care homes are big business in California. Once 3rd gens mom started needing 24/7 watching (she would wander out of the house if no one watched her 24/7) we were paying $7,400 a month. It took years for Medicaid to chip in because she had "loans" to Watchtower they refused to return and Social Security considered outstanding loans as "assets".

" Assisted-living centers have become an appealing retirement option for hundreds of thousands of boomers who can no longer live independently, promising a cheerful alternative to the institutional feel of a nursing home.
But their cost is so crushingly high that most Americans can’t afford them.
These highly profitable facilities often charge $5,000 a month or more and then layer on extra fees at every step. Residents’ bills and price lists from a dozen facilities offer a glimpse of the charges: $12 for a blood pressure check; $50 per injection (more for insulin); $93 a month to order medications from a pharmacy not used by the facility; $315 a month for daily help with an inhaler.
The facilities charge extra to help residents get to the shower, bathroom or dining room; to deliver meals to their rooms; to have staff check-ins for daily “reassurance” or simply to remind residents when it’s time to eat or take their medication. Some even charge for routine billing to a resident’s insurance for care.

My earliest memories at around 3 are of beatings with a belt.
The biggest proof of JWs being a death cult is the required "Blood Card" carried by all members in good standing and their children. Nothing short of a suicide pact...in writing.
