In 1975...50 years ago I had it all figured out....because Watchtower told me so.
But over the last 50 years I have learned "I don't know what I don't know".
Watchtower told me child abuse didn't occur unless TWO witnesses saw it. So...where are the two witnesses for 90% of what I read in the bible?
Who else heard or saw God speak to Abraham, Daniel, Moses, John, or Jesus?
I have heard mental patients claim they hear gods voice. I choose to not believe them.
Why should I believe the founder of Israel was directly chosen by god? Or that he saw a burning bush? I ignore mental patients and street people claims, should I go "all in" believing a bronze age goat herder who insisted he was chosen and god told him to sacrifice his son? Where were his "two witnesses"?
I have weird dream once in a while...why should I believe the Apostle Johns were inspired? Did he have two witnesses?
Do I have to have all the answers?
Do I have to follow/worship a guru, an orange politician, or religious leaders/governing body who tell me god choose them? If so why?

"I slay and pray" :)
Serena Williams knows how to own a red carpet. The 23-time Grand Slam champion turned heads at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, dazzling in a midnight-black, off-shoulder gown. But while she spent the night mingling with A-list stars like Kim Kardashian, she also made sure to keep up with something far more important—her nightly ritual with her daughters.
The American tennis legend may be retired from tennis, but she hasn’t slowed down one bit. Since stepping away from the sport in 2022, she has embraced a new chapter in her life, one rooted in faith and family.
Shortly after retiring, she got baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness, a commitment that now plays a central role in her everyday life. In an Instagram post, while Williams was still in her glamorous avatar, she tucked her eldest daughter Olympia in for the night. But not without first offering a prayer to god. In her caption, she revealed, “I try my best to pray every day with them no matter the circumstances. I slay and pray.”
It’s a practice she holds close to her heart, ensuring her children grow up with the same faith that has guided her through life. Her devotion to Jehovah’s Witness beliefs has shaped many aspects of her family life. After welcoming Olympia in 2017, Williams surprised many by revealing that they wouldn’t be celebrating her daughter’s first birthday. “Olympia doesn’t celebrate birthdays,” she told ‘People’. “We’re Jehovah’s Witnesses, so we don’t do that.”

Warning! If you are an Elder or a family member of one, surfing this site..these newer legal cases should give you pause. Your family and future financial well-being may be at risk from the actions of a fellow elder or Watchtower policy flip-flop. "Vicarious liability, also known as imputed liability, is a legal principle where a person or entity (the "principal") is held liable for the tortious (wrongful) acts of another person (the "agent") due to a specific relationship between them, such as employer-employee. New GB member Judy Jedele critizing Job's "humility" while wearing $20,000 Rolex, gold cuff links, coloured suit. Incredible!
by WingCommander ini swear, you can't make this shit up!
for years and years growing up in this cult, i had to constantly hear from my parents, from the stage, in the literature, about "keeping your eye simple", not being "materialistic", not "having a showy display of one's wealth.
" of course, this never seemed to apply to the wealthy business owning elduhzzzz who ran and lorded it out over the congregations, but i digress.

Did Watchtower Really Teach That Armageddon Was Coming in 1954?
by Jerome56 inin the march 2025 jw broadcast david splane in his morning worship talk mentioned that "some thought" that armageddon would come 40 years after 1914. such statements are usually meant to shift the blame of their own false predictions on to their members for speculating.
however, i was unable to find anything in print showing that such a thing was indeed taught by the society.
was this really a thing?.

Before Mom died she recounted over a half dozen Armageddon dates many JWs speculated about in the 30s and before.. She said many thought WW2 was the beginning of the great tribulation.

The Share of Religious Americans will continue to decline- New York Times. Why? New Pew Study
by Balaamsass2 inlocally, in northern california i have seen/heard a drop in jw and mainstream church attendance especially in person attendance.
(exception: a new creepy local new-age charismatic/pentecostal group: "bethel church" 11,000 and growing mega church(kundalini yoga/sex combined with prosperity gospel, trumpism, guns, rock music, dancing, glitter, speaking in tongues, and faith healing).. for me this paragraph sums it up regarding jehovah's witnesses: " ...smith described organized religion to me as having become a “polluted” idea in the american mainstream, because of the publicity around sex abuse scandals and financial malfeasance in many different faiths in the ’80s and ’90s as millennials came of age.
“the scandals violated most of the virtues believed to make religion good,” smith wrote.

I have recently been looking at the ex-jw Reddit site. Many of the posts show 2k readers online. Wow. I am surprised at how many people the governing body videos turn off. The self-assuming nature of the GB is one of the most effective things turning people away from JWs now. A fountain of toxic soup of mean self-righteousness, pride, abuse, and greed$$ straight from the GB mouths at headquarters.
