i just finished watching the recording of the talk at the annual meeting that re-explains gog of magog.
i caught something not previously talked about, that i can recall.. gog of magog is thought to be a coalition of nations that attach god's people during the great tribulation.
this is from ezekiel 38 & 39.. gog and magog in revelation 20 represents those with the same attitude as gog of magog.. thus, the new teaching (maybe not new, but i'll have to research this) is that gog in ezekiel is not the same as gog in revelation 20. two different gogs, happening about a thousand years apart.. .
Some of these "hidden" NUUU light treasures remind me of finding a box lid after digging down a couple of feet in the yard...... and after prying up the lid...saying hey it smells bad...humm....kinda looks like a septic tank.....hummm...,,let's put a stick down there...yup 4 ft deep..yup..it's Sh#!#. It is a SEPTIC TANK!! :( Now....

as a kid growing up in the uk we used to play 'cowboys and indians' and watch high chaparal and bonanza along with other cowboy films.
later, in the 70's kung fu would be shown with caine going through the 'old west'.
we even had a chocolate bar that was marketed with a 'cowboy' theme...milky bar.. as far as i know the 'wild west' as shown on tvdidn't actually exist.. are there people that believe it did?.
If you like beef (or mutton), much of it is still raised and herded by "cowboys" the "ranch hands" who work for the land owner or "Rancher"( at least for the first year or so of it's life). Locally some of them still ride horses if the ranch is steep or has too many rocks for an ATV or Pick-up truck. We have a lot of ranches nearby.
During the 1840s to almost 1910 the local ranchers and Indians fought and everyone carried a gun. Bears, coyotes and Mt Lions still kill lambs, calves and even a horse now and then. Most ranchers keep a gun close by to this day. Modern Cattle rustlers still strike at night, but now they cut fences and use semi-trucks to load the beef.
The big modern problem is Mexican Cartels have well armed workers growing Marijuana on nearby Federal lands, Forests and remote ranch land and a "cowboy" or worker can accidently stumble across a "grow"....so people working in remote areas are carrying guns more frequently now than 20-80 years ago.
i am applying to chemical engineering course in the uk through ucas (a lot of things changed since i've posted last time).. i have a lot of skills i developed while regular pioneering, like public speaking skills, ability to reason (even if it's bs), presentational skills etc.. i feel it would boost my personal statement a lot, but i'm also afraid they would say "this guy beleives in god, and loves science, he must be creationist.
away with him".. how could i mention that i gave interviews front of thousands of people and did voluntary work in my hometown without giving a bad impression?.
i don't want to go into details and start explaining myself that "however i don't beleive in god", or something like that.
I applied for a Wall Street job years ago. My college was 3rd rate. The interviewer/manager was unimpressed and was going to pass on me. Final question was, what makes you think you could even do this job? As a last ditch effort, I said :Rejection is a huge problem with your hires, right? I was raised as a Jehovahs Witness, and I have been knocking on strangers doors since I was a little kid, getting doors slammed on me, yelled at, dogs sicked on me, hosed down, etc. ANYTHING an executive says to me will roll off my back.
The guy got a HUGE smile, belly laughed, and announced "Your HIRED!! " See you Monday!!
I was big time embarrased when he re-told the story over and over again at bars next to the exchange months afterward. Made it hard to "fit in"- they looked at me like a zoo animal, or a lost Amish boy. :)

My Uncles and father in-law (all dead now) who drove "Sound Cars", loved to be attendants at assemblies so they could wack "opposers" with canes. We have one of those canes.
Until the mid 1970s elders could be cops. Our Congregation servant ( a cop) had his cop buddies visit in uniform in the 60s. Another servant (cop) wore his pearl handled 45 on the platform under his suit.
By the 80s all cops were forced to quit law enforcement or step down from positions.
1990s a servant was disfellowshiped for killing a man while defending his family from a home invasion using a Deer Rifle!!! ( San Francisco North Bay Area) "blood guilt". The D.A. deemed the incident clear self defence.

one thing i've noticed growing up as a jehovah's witness is the insane amount of people that measure their worth and the worth of others according to 'spiritual' activties.
to be fair, there are some sincere people that just want to work for a good cause.
but i can't even have a conversation with some people without them talking about something religious.
Starting over, sooo true in the congregations. However the Governing Body wine and dine the wealthy $$$$.

an odd letter was read at last nights' meeting.
it was in regards to a special campaign for next year arranged by the governing body to go and preach in israel.
the call is going out to anybody that speaks hebrew and english.
I nominate the WTBTS Governing body for this special event! Since they are fond of tunnels I suggest a tour of all the Hamas tunnels and a special day of street work in Gaza!
