I find this an important investigation. It is a CRIMINAL investigation of systemic organized criminal activity rather than single "isolated" incidents. Watchtower's standard method of operation of dealing with private law firms by "stall stall stall and appeal appeal appeal" will not serve them as well when dealing with a STATE Attorney General who has already cut her teeth on beating the Catholic Church.

I heard a rumor that Anthony Morris was Ted Jaractz's (sp) "helper" and may have helped craft some of the sex abuse policies at Watchtower that have become a moral, financial, and PR quagmire. Have you heard of this, or any other credible rumors?

Last week I looked up Menlo Park, CA. Kingdom Hall on Google Earth. It was sold...not to nearby Facebook Corp., but to a Spanish evangelical church. After all the hoopla and disfellowshipping of the sincere elders who spoke out about the land grab, I wonder how the local publishers feel when they drive by and see "False Religion" using the building they worked so hard on. The Menlo Park Fiasco brought me and my wife to this group and helped us exit.

the jws i know (which admittedly are more liberal than most) are suddenly into prepping to one degree or another.

some have simply assembled "go bags" with basic common sense supplies in case they need to bug out in the event of a natural disaster and others seem to be seriously into it, almost to the degree to which mormons are.

Yes, it got more extreme in the last 15 years or so. My 80 yr old mom and her sister had "Go bags". My mom couldn't walk one block :) She actually seemed excited about showing people her bag. What I found interesting, is when she was younger she said repeatedly, that "JWs in comparison to Mormons, rely on Jehovah and the angels instead of men and hoarding".

I have always thought having a week's supplies, and prescriptions are a great idea for earthquakes, fires, etc. As a kid, My dad a WW2 veteran, a non-JW (who got stuck on Guadalcanal... undersupplied for months) insisted we always have one-month supplies "just in case".

Well, we know Tony and the Mrs didn't attend his meeting today....and he was seen around Bethel the day after the big announcement ( he wasn't escorted off premises to the airport or station as some Bethelites have experienced). He was called "Brother" during the announcement, like during deletions. We KNOW the announcement and the big SEO push are gone today. (Sunday). We KNOW Watchtower is in deep water with a new CRIMINAL investigation by the STATE of Pennsylvania that can pierce through their cheesy corporate veil.

A big lesson was learned by Watchtower in how NOT to handle resigning GB members with Ray Franz. If you hound and persecute people, their friends, and loved ones...they may become indignant...and write books and give interviews. :)

After Ray Franz, the next two GB members got "severance packages", and they went quietly into the night. Perhaps in exchange for signing non-disclosure agreements? (can you imagine the damage a second tell-all book about the GB and "coming -out" would do?)

I imagine Tony will be financially well cared for in exchange for a signed non-disclosure agreement. Tony is a loose cannon and likes to flap his gums...a nightmare for any corporation on thin ice facing major litigation.

Governing body members don't "step down" for health reasons. They are spoon-fed by adoring jw nurses if need be.

That was a terse and sudden announcement. Tony was removed.

For drunkenness? For being a loose cannon? A fall guy for the crazy costly abuse policies? We may never know.

WT Leaks posted a list of every US hall by state. There were over 200 listed for Pennsylvania. With multiple congregations using each building, that is a lot of Elders to serve.

In California, the local County DAs would have the DA investigators dig up the names, and addresses and serve the records subpoenas and personal subpoenas, and do some initial questioning as needed.

The danger in Watchtower's eyes is for the DAs men to run into some bible reading true believer Elders who believe it is a SIN to lie to the cops.

This reminds me of the Bentleys of the San Francisco Bay Area. They are active and vocal Ex JWS. Roger was a straight-shooting sincere Elder who refused to lie under oath as ordered by Watchtower on a child molesting case (related to the Candice Conti case). His reward? Immediate disfellowshipping in.... absentia... (without any meeting) by Watchtower headquarters.

Great couple, and with a fascinating story. We met them at the California Lake Tahoe "Apostafest" a few years back.
