Growing number of memorial partakers explained(?) by local elder
by stillin ini brought this up in a conversation after today's meeting.
the elder knowingly acknowledged the growing number and pointed out that of course, now we understand why this is so.
i gave my best blank stare and said "we do?

I would guess, there is supposed to be another influx hearing the calling, from the 2nd part of the overlapped generation. -

There is alot of talk about how Conti is just driven by greed to pursue the WTS and not Kendrick. How she is following an apostate agenda.
Most of these do not know she sued for a small amount, the goal was to change policy to protect others. After examining the evidence the jury awarded the large sum of money. From the start she did not have financial gain in mind.

NATIONAL DEFENSE DAY - Cause for disfellowshipping?
by EdenOne inmy son will soon be summoned to attend the "national defense day".. in my country, military service has become voluntary, but all young men and women around the age of 18/19 must attend a one-day session in a military recruitment centre, where the military will basically run a sales session trying to get them interested in the military career.
they will watch the military routine, a parade to salute the flag (not sure they will have to participate in saluting the flag), sing the national anthem (not sure it's mandatory to join in the singing), touch a few guns, learn about the current threats to national security, learn about the missions and branches of the military, etc.
it's a one-day thing, but i know most active jw's ask to be excused from this event on grounds of conscientious objection.. although my son has no interest in the military career, he made up his mind to attend when summoned.

Now I would guess no it wouldn't be, seeing as he is not joining anything. He could argue his conscience required him to comply with Caesars laws.
Probably be the same as country's that require people to register and vote.

Shorter meetings for field service
by hoser inmarch kingdom ministry insert is about how the field service meetings will be shortened from 10 to 15 minutes down to 5 to 7 minutes.
they want the publishers to report more hours.
in my experience the problem isn't the length of the meeting for service but pioneers and publishers dogging it after the service arrangement.

People are gonna need to make some major life adjustments now, seeing as 90% of the group would arrive at the 15 minute mark. -

The other big issue is that they don't feel any ordinary obligation to report it to the police but only do so if required by state law - even then I'm not sure they do - don't these men have any conscience?
They do - If required by state law
1st-They confront the accused and see if he will turn himself in, if no.
2nd-They see if anyone else who knows will go forward, if no.
3rd-Two elders make an anonymous phone call from a neutral location they write down who called, who they spoke to time etc and sign it put in the congregation file. So if the issue is raised they can say they complied with the law.
This has nothing to do with bringing a criminal to justice but simple to cover there ass.

That jwtalk thread is interesting, you can see the humanity come through but the auto defense comes on walls go up and it is all an attack on God.
I wish these people would just take a look at the evidence in the case of Kendrick then decide who is in the wrong.

What a joke, the man admitted to molesting his step-daughter. Gone to jail for molesting his step-grandaughter. Then wants people to believe he never touched Candace. -

Watchtower's deception regarding blood transfusions
by Rufus T. Firefly inyou also ask why one can be dis-fellowshipped for taking a blood transfusion but not for taking blood fractions.
while both may affect the life of an individual, the expression "life-sustaining" in connection with blood transfusions is synonymous with the idea of taking in food for nourishment.
in this regard both whole blood and major components of it carry nutrients, oxygen, and other nourishment to the body.

Well, I think ultimately the bloodless route is ideal. However there are certain situation where it becomes necessary. Much like chemo is not ideal for the body but in certain situations it becomes necessary.
I think they see that a total blood ban was an error however to many children have been sacrificed on the policy a quick 180 would be unacceptable. But know thanks to medicine blood has been broken down for different situations.
The watchtowers hope most is that down the road all these things can be treated by the so called fractions that they will allow. This will allow them to undo the policy without actually undoing it.

Things like this make me wonder what is going on,
One side thinks there are puppet masters behind the scenes controlling everything, but if that is the case I don't see the strategy to thumbing their noses at Judges and legal decrees.
My thoughts on these matters is, if you take a look at what their lawyer said on jwtv that all victories in the court are because of God. They have had a lot of victories in court but most of them are on just grounds things that are human rights violations, many other people have also had similar success in court(the 1900s were full of victories in racial, sex and other rights victories no divine intervention needed there).
I think the reason for these crazy delay tactics and long shot appeals and failure to obey court orders, is done with them thinking God is gonna miraculously intervene and move the judge to throw all these cases out. However to bad for them child abuse is not the same as fighting for someone imprisoned because his human rights have been violated.
