Bethel Life

what is life like for those in bethel?.

To be 100% honest I found it to be a great dream.

You wake up walk 5-10+ minute walk to a hot nice pre-cooked breakfast.

Then walk 10-15 minutes to work.

10-15 back to a nice lunch followed by a hard 10-15 minute commute back to work.

Same travel back to a room that has been cleaned somewhat for you.

With a nice easy walk to a hot free dinner.

Bag your laundry drop it off it is delivered fully folded to your front step. ( Same with dry cleaning).

With such little commute time. You have time that you can spend at the pool,sauna, gym , library, music area, sports fields etc. ( Canada Branch and I would say US branch).

All and all I have not people who in the past commented how they dont understand how local brothers and sisters could not keep up with meeting studies. They did not get it till leaving the branch.

Compared to the "rat race" most deal with on a daily basis it is an easy way of life.

Major changes to convention security beginning in 2017

short info on interesting changes to the major conventions this year: there will be a new security concept that will be implemented at all regional conventions in 2017.. similar to other major events (e.g.

festivals, concerts), there will be admittance controls in stadiums.. - at each entrance, there will be a massive presence of attendants that look at each visitor.. - there will be pocket checks at the entrance.. - suspicious persons are no longer left on the convention grounds.. - suppliers to the stadium will be intensively inspected by attendants.. - there will be a special sign for attendants that must enter the stadium before 7.30 am.

all others (even all attendants) can only enter after 7.30 am..

I highly doubt this seems highly impracticable. They dont have the man power attendant wise to search people as they come in, unlike events at conventions you can come and go as you please. What are they gonna do search people multiple times a day as they enter and exit for whatever reason.

where can i find the video explaining 1914 or at least the new explanation of 1914 from the wt society and not you trying to remember bits and pieces :) ?

Then this stupid elder's wife in the hall I went to who was born in 1978 told in me in 2008 it was all made up lies.

This is never got heard this from so many people, the mindset of 75 is easily proven just using the WT library.

They did away with that awhile ago, as far back as the 70s they stated the 7th day is still ongoing. It does not end till Gods purpose for the earth is completed.

Assembly Assessment increased 300%

while at the assembly, when reading the financial statement, i noticed our expenses went from $2500 to almost $9500 so i questioned an elder and said that the assessment per publisher is at $10.50 for all in the us branch territory.. he added this helps the society know how much is coming in and helps them plan out future projects!.

WT terms of use for website material

so the society's website has the following terms of use.... how can they forbid people from quoting or posting content on any form of social media?

how too can "breaching" these self imposed terms be "punished"?

nearly every "good" witness sends the society stuff to each other via instagram, facebook, email, etc....so are they disobeying the directives of the governing body?.

If they can figure out how to keep copyrighted things off other websites they can make a pretty penny selling that info to Hollywood and the music industry.

10 Years later

During the 2013 service year, Jehovah’s Witnesses spent nearly $200 million in caring for special pioneers, missionaries, and traveling overseers in their field service assignments.
That is a big increase. I mean yea New York sales were huge but if they are really burning 200 Million a year and that is only part of there expenses .

Mandatory voting in USA

i am sure that president obama's saying today that mandatory voting in the usa would be a good thing is going to get the witnesses all excited as they look forward to being persecuted for not voting.

just another sign showing how deep we are into the times of the end and how close they are to burying billions of people who don't read the watchtower.. sour grapes .

As predicted, this caused a small stir here in washington dc among faithful dubbies. When i pointed out the branch long ago had addressed this by saying that you would show up, go in the booth and write in "jesus" and call it a day they (three of them I was speaking with) actually looked deflated. They wanted the persecution amd seriously felt this was aimed at jw's. It made my head hurt the rest of the day.

Yea I have had this from people I know, they want persecution. They want to be tortured and suffer. Maybe it has something to do with proving themselves, or along those lines. But in reality it is just dumb.

But yea lots of country's around the world where voting is mandatory you show up register and check both boxes or no boxes, they comply with the law but still don't vote.
