Moving the GB table away from the window? Seriously ? Don't they think a determined individual or group could determine the cordinates of Warwick, and its posted schedules, and Drone these guys off the face of the Planet ? Again, they overestimate their own importance.

Skeeter1- So how do your relatives feel about Mormons ? Mormons do not believe in the Trinity.
And do they like Oneness Pentecostalism ? They also do not believe in the Trinity . How about Members Church of God International ? They do not believe in the Trinity. Tagalog Church of Christ does not believe in the Trinity. So does this mean they are also beloved by your relatives?
Many Quakers do not believe in the Trinity either. Do your JW relatives even know that the so called "special knowledge" of the WT is borrowed from William Miller ? Seventh Day Adventists do not believe in Hellfire and neither do many other groups. Uniitarians do not believe in the Trinity or Hell. So are these groups then all acceptable to your JW relatives ? And the BONUS would be, none of the above named anti-Trinitarians, will cut off your head. Oh and don't forget the Jews, they do not believe in the Trinity, and they also will not cut off your head.

Help me help my DF'd friend
by OneEyedJoe inso i got a text from a friend of mine today telling me that he'd been df'd.
since i'm still nominally a witness, this puts me in a tricky spot.
i intend to tell him in no uncertain terms that i will not shun him, but i'm not sure where to go beyond that.

Peter was a cautious man; wait I think I hear the cock crowing, a third time.
DO ask him why he was disfellowshipped. If he tells you he has seen that the "organization" is a Cult that should give you the courage to tell him your own timid fears. Don't tell him to go out and do stupid things like fornicate his brains out or take drugs and other "fun" things since that will drive him back in and will lead to all kinds of misery. How old is he? Is he living at home or on his own ? Encourage him to educate himself. Be honest. Try it, it will be a new experience for you.

The GB are COWARDS and serve only themselves and their own interests and their own power structure.
Their old fashioned ancient rants against Christendom are absurd, since Christendom is running most of the charities and relief agencies and soup lines and thrift shops and building hospitals and school and whole villages for orphans in Africa, in other words Christendom is able to get along with one another and concentrate on positive actions; while the WT does absolutely nothing, but praise itself, and criticsize others , UNLESS those "others" have bombs and might cut off your head.
If the Pope showed up at Bethel with a heavily armed, bomb throwing, missle firing army, and cut off a few heads, they would soon shut up about the Catholics as well.

Is he nearby ? Can you just call him up ? Ask him WHY he got DF. May be he will open up to you. Hopefully it was because he questioned the GB the WT doctrines the FDS or read Crisis of Conscience. Please do not abandon him.
Ask him why he reached out to you in particular. Does he know you doubt the organization? If he does and was disfellowshipped for the same reason, he may need your support, unless he is planning on returning and getting reinstated.
Since his father is an elder, it could any absurd infraction, may be he enrolled in college or stopped going out in service or expressed his own opinions on some touchy subject. He is obviously reaching out to you, take his hand.
You need to show some courage behind your own convictions, you cannot live in fear and be a happy and authentic man. Is your wife the type to run to elders ? Would she really "turn you in" if you told her your real feelings ? What a terrible position to be in. May be your wife actually has doubts and is afraid to tell you ? And your both living a lie ? What do you talk about ? This is incomprehensible to me.

Fudging the Numbers: Is the WTBTS in decline?
by Coded Logic init's no secret that the wtbts has a cash flow problem.
over the past three years they have closed 20 of their 116 branches.
they have sold off most of their properties in and around ny (including some kingdom halls), drastically reduced the # of printed pages for the watchtower and awake magazines, reduced the printing of books and other materials, increased the number of single page tract campagnes, installed cc machines at their assembly halls, and are now seizing of controll of property assets from local kingdom halls using renovation projects.

New baptisms are probably 80% withing existing families, children from 8 years old to early teens being pressured by the elders and their parents who are frightened they will become "worldly" and do something crazy, like going to university.

My JW friend turned down the "privilege" of working the literature table at the park. Why?
by MissFit ini have written before about my jw friend that plays hookie with me on sundays.
we skip the meeting and go straight to lunch and margaritas.
she converted later in life and has been a jw for over 25 years.. she is in her late 70's and has had heart problems.

The WT should supply ipads for free to every single JW. 7 million ipads ? They should get a big discount. Can you imagine how much money this woman has sepnt on literature in 25 years ? How sad that in her 70's she still feels pressured to have a "magazine route" and "get in her time" What absolute elder abuse. I am so glad you take her to lunch.
Put a paper cover with a Watchtower front page, glued on front of the book Crisis of Conscience and tell her its the latest new book you picked up at the convention.

Who knows, may be the information about the days of the week and his wedding ring will be a catalyst in his mind and start some critical thinking process. It is sometimes small things like that that start a small crack in the dike and the water just keeps dripping and dripping in his mind. You obviously hit some nerve when he started shaking his head and couldn't put it together. It is hard to imagine a competent person doing meaningful work of a problem solving nature, requiring critical thinking, being a JW for long. What a strange power, our own delusions have over us, its scary really. When you see it from the outside. He thinks he appears as a martyr and all he elicits is pity.

"My Husband is Poisoning Me!" Judicial Committee number 256
by BucketShopBill ini pulled up the notes from one of the more weird judical committe topics, this is the garbage your elders had to handle!.
the mind games played by one of the elderettes come's to mind, she was speaking to a sister that was suffering from severe anxiety and helped our depressed sister draw the conclusion that "sister depressed's husband is trying to poisoning her!
" off goes this once pretty and smart woman, she went to college and got her license to draw blood because she wanted to test it for arsenic and polonium (around the time that russian guy got off ed by vladimir putin).

Bucketshop - Now there is good material for a novel. You have access to these records ? I bet the stories would make a TV series.
