at the international convention melbourne brother lett of the group 2 faithful slave told an emotional story of his grandfather on a sidewalk in texas playing a rutherford recording loudly till a irratated texan came out of a house, smashed the grammaphone and punched him in the face...if you ever heard rutherford you would know why.

for example religion is a snare and a racket invented by satan....no wonder they were banned..tarred and feathered...killed and put in jail playing the rantings of a maniac.

new assembly experience... what do you reckon to this one?

ok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.

she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.

he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.

so its better to have your father 'cut off your finger', [for a bunch of foolish beliefs] when you disobey him, and God, [who told us to obey our parents as long as we are under their roof and we are not being abused]

, than to simply cooporate respct your father, and read the bible on your own time and wait till you move from home then persue your own faith?

how does someone reason that this would be, faith strenghthening? its terrifying if you ask me. and gee the father got away with that,hmmm.

have my kids get their fingers cut off for going to church? Yea right. God wouldnt be so stupid.

why no one could hang on a stake

think about it, for one thing a grown mans body could not possiblly hang on his wrists with a single nail.

the wrists are what the wt decides that the nails are through not the hands.

the feet would also tear and be broken, you can nail feet over top each other without using a huge long metal mail like pin.

the weight of the person, would tear through the flesh and probably disconnect his shoulders , he would be bleading to death as the nails would go right thorugh the blood artery. you cannot breath either, your lungs are compressed .

there would be blood pouring out profusely.

Any human hung this way would be in so much agony they would have no idea who was next to them, they wouldnt be able to talk

theys be delerious in no time, and dead with in hours.

now compare that with tieing the wrists on the cross beam, and tieing the tow ankles to the pole. the nailing the hands or wrists and feet

even that would produce profuse bleeding and agony. but perhaps prolong life a while longer.

now I ask you, what God, or father in their right mind would do that to a child, and use that to redeem mankind? I must be better than God to never every do that ors expect that of my son.

hes God he doesnt need to prove anything to anyone.

he could have simply allowed sinners to die off and those who did not sin to live forever, and that still would have completed Gods plan.

end of story.

I understand this scripture this way. [after much other research on the subject]

jesus told those 12 apostles with him at the time that some of them would see him come and take his kingdom, this happened in the first chapter of acts,

where it describes his vsit, and he ate ahd drank with them . the seprerating work started then, apparently, as seen in acts, when they , the current lost sheep of Israel, repented and got baptised after the big speach in acts ch 2? or 3. theywere not preaching to gentiles they were preaching repentance to those lost sheep of the house of Israel.

sheep and goats are both valuable flocks, but the sheep belonged to Jesus, a messiah fo israel, the goats were in my opinion, the gentiles.

there are contradictions all over the place in the bible, as well as in nearly every article the society has printed, so its a free for all.

my mom seems to railroad me into a debate at least once a week.. anyway long story short,.

she says 'there is no where in the literture that the wt writers claimed that a specfic year it was going to be armageddon.. well i thought there was, and id like to print it or show it to her, i have some older books but not many.. so, is there?

i told her that the wt claimed that 1975 was going to be the end, she said no, they said that was the beginning of the tribulation.. wow, she forgot about the most recent article ablout that already!.

somehow i can be talking to my mother about a tossed salad and somehow she ends up preachng at me.

i dont bring anything about religion up and yet she 'spins' it in that direction. shes 72. shes done no research even using the jw publications.

shes so coufused she makes me chucle, things paul said she claims jesus said. and shes so sure, but she wont look it up.

One Day assembly in Arizona- $17,000 !!

i heard from a reliable source that a one-day assembly in arizona last weekend had a "cost" to the publishers of $17,000.. predictably, the elders were nice enough to obligate the attendees to a $6,000 donation to wt before the assembly "costs" (i.e.

"rent/extortion) were even met.

$11,000 rent plus $6000 in extra "donations".

when the assembly hall was paid off for many many years i always wondered what cost so much money. after all everything is voulentered no maintaianence costs or landscaping costs other than new mulch.

so the only cost is electricity, which these buildings are supposed to be super energy efficiiant. and water and sewer costs.

HELP! Elder bombarded me with scripture...& I don't know what to do.

i have been lurking on this site for many years.

i rarely post anything, because my english isnt the best and not sure if anyone understands.

i just recently had a run in with an elder, have not seen him in a few years.

where were you that this man was able to talk to you this long?

I tend to let people talk, try to look like im busy,

then say 'well, i see things a bit differently , but thanks for your concern, im glad you still show

me consideration and ill think about what you said'.

and then move on....
