are we loosing the skills/ ability to make freinds and seek mates?

it occoured to me that so many people in the world in general, have now become tech dependant.. so in my view this has interfered with a childs ability to make freinds simply from initial contact.. people fear each other right off the bat, and are suspicious, rather than the other way around, becasue of the things that go on.

even among those who cliam to be true christains.. there also is a huge amount of people of all ages, who have no clue how to date.. dating websites have flurished, ans has social sites like this one, .

but they are an inaccurate means in my opinion, because not all people on these sites can be trusted.. how do we interpret whats being inplied when text cannot express emotion?.

lol, one eyed joe i dont get offended at anyone, dont worry about it.

[my jw upbringing has at least taught me one thing,

to not take things personal , other wise id be offended all the time].

and they left the congregations, would you then feel open to be thier friends?.

many on here have the same complaint, that in the jw congregations, there were clickes, no one had time for each other,.

people judged, there was a lack of association, freindship , true concern and love were lacking.

apostrate, the reputation we gain from being a jw sticks with us unfortuantely. we get an automatic [visual] conclusion drawn when we are introduced to someone and at some point it comes out we were 'once' jehovahs witnesses' now that whole idea clouds evverything else and they cant view us like one of them, normal people. its like they trip all over themselves not knowing how to act.

you have more patience than i do, you sound as if your an only child. i feel your pain, but its fear that keeps us from being brave and moving out of a dead end situation Im guilty of that myself, by being still married to my husband. I have no prospects that wouldnt pull me into poverty.

so i stay so i have a home and food and maintain at least a semi middle class status. but Im sure not happy about it.

im sure theres a lot of reasons why she wont relocate but ,

you mean to tell me, if you told her to sell the house and buy another one closer to a kingdom hall so she can go more often, [if shes even able to]

she isnt open to the idea? use her psycology. get closer to the hall see people, have new area to explore, bla bla. id call her bluff. start packing, lol

and yes you certainly need some sort of job if anything just to get out of the house!

god, go get a job at mcdonalds just to get a break from the monotony. im going crazy this past two weeks being sick with the flu being home!

yea exactly why they dont df you, your her caretaker, but also they might simply not care to begin with,

your not 'spreading propaganda' your no threat to them. but here where i live, when someone reaches an age like her they force them into a nursing home, ive seen it done three times so far. the elders work with the family to convince the person tha t there is no other way, and uses the idea that its service t o God if they relive thier family of the time consuming burden, and opens up 'new territory' being in a facility. whatever, and out they go .

but heads up, id make it known to her, that

your a guy shes a girl, and your not a young man anymore,

there is going to ome a time when your hands will be tied, youll have no choice but to put her in a facility. use the elders in her hall to your advantage if you can to force her into a better situation if need be. if you have siblings they can back you up.

and that house if not in your name for at least 7 years, will go to the nursing home.

she needs to know, that her home is payment for her future care, not the borg.

Id have somehow put it in my name 10 years ago.

yea i have my parents at age 72 and 74 thinking they have everything figured out

when in fact they are financially struggling because they insist on having thier name attatched to a deed, the bank owns their place they are paying rent plus paying to maintain it. foolsih to me.

they would be farther ahead renting it would cost them less in travel gas and heating fuel and maintainence. they have 2 unlevel acres , and mom seems to feel it needs cut like a golf course, so she spends hours doing this only to wear herself out.

i dont want to have to deal with thier realestate issues, so yea whats up with people and thier possessions when they are jws???

Hypocritical video on jw.org "what's a real friend."

have you watched the 4 min animated white board drawing video on jw.org called "what's a real friend?".

it is one of the most hypocritical pieces they have produced!.

it goes into detail explaining that real friends "don't judge you, dont talk about you behind your back, don't hold grudges, don't expect you to conform, and encourage individuality!".

she views everyone outside the org, as being blessed by, wait for it......

yes, she says satan blesses his own. I have no idea were she gets this logic! [so according to her logic it doesnt matter who you worhsip youll either be sucessfull or not duh]

she thinks that no one can be truly happy in the world, that success is simply the way people 'cope' with 'unhappyness' and 'guilt' , they hide behind thi er life, lol.

they 'throw' themselves into work, and debt t o keep busy,

so they dont have to think about the fact that they are on the wrong road and instead of worship God they worship things and money.

she cannot differenciate between worship and enjoying the fruits of ones labor. she assumes that everyone is unhappy if they are not a jw.

if you dare make any negative complaints about ANYTHING , even a person who cuts you off in traffic, or peanut buter cookies that burned in the oven,

she says, 'well this is satans world, nothing is going to be right....'

she sees NO good in anything, im serious, and yet says shes happy??????

she wears me out.

ok, so let me get this strait,

this man IS a member of the governing body,

but NOT a member of the watchtower?

SO who are members of the watchtower organization?

if that is the 7 or so million, people, then why are 'non members' making rules and doctrines for persons who are 'members' of what they are not?

AND If they are not members of the watchtower, its stands to reason that none of the governing body is, if he says hes not,

then they have no right to make decisions for the 7 million members or enforce them? how can you claim to have a heavenly calling and be the mouthpeice of God over an organization that you are not part of?

do i understand that correctly?

i have never seen ghosts, or had any experiences relating to ghosts.

but i know that many have had personal experiences.

if you have had an experience, can you tell me what you think of this experiment as an explaination.

when i was 4 yrs old, on several occations, i firmly believe as a small toddler saw a ghost come into my room through

the outsde wall and walk across the room and get into bed with me. so then, when she reappeared,

as i saw this long haired tall thin woman walking towards me, id turn over and close my eyes tightly .

years and years later, when i told this expretience to my mom, she told me in that same apartment

she would feel as of she was being held down in bed, and couldnt move.

coincindence? she believes that this started when she began to study with her sister who was the first jw convert in our large family.

she then said satan was trying to get her to stop studying, lol. if she only knew....

now i ask, why would a 4 yr old child remember this so vivildy? or have dreams such as this?

makes me wonder. i ve had other experiences but im sure all of them were a result of the rem sleep?

Examining Genesis . Would your JW's ?

i was talking to a jw a short time ago and it emerged in conversation that he believed in the literal truth of the bible's first book, genesis.. no great surprise there, but he said something pertinent, he said, "if you don't, then the whole of our belief falls apart".. i was wondering if this may be of use to those who are endeavouring to "wake up" jw family or friends.

a proper examination of genesis could be encouraged in a gentle way, raising questions the j.w's must answer, ( you may have to insist they answer them, not shove them aside as they love to do ), and eventually they will have to get to the point, if they are at all honest, that genesis is simply not literal truth.. then, their whole body of belief is undermined.. simples !.

well, the idea is, the execution may be impossible, but i just thought the idea may be helpful ?.

id say your correct, however, the book of job was written first from what i recall reading, its the oldest book found, so who knows.

Is shunning an expression of love or just a place for the shunner to hide?

to three people in my family, disfellowshipping / shunning is just a tool the wtbs uses to hide what really happened.... they don't want people to 'see behind the curtain.'.

shunning apostates was done only by ancient israeltes in response to those who did not follow that law. right? am i wrong? its early.
