RE-POST FROM JULY 2009:
Recently on JEOPARDY the answer was: "It's the most ACCURATE translation of the Holy Scriptures." No contestant replied so ALEX TREBEK said: "What is the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures by the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society" ~~~

Is the two-witness rule really unreasonable?
by stillin ini'm picturing a situation in which a savvy 12 year old doesn't like the house rules that mom's new husband has put into place.
or something along that line.
i can certainly agree that protection of children is paramount, but who protects the real victim in those cases?
-
sowhatnow
Sure it is, it defies logic, something the bible seems to us to have lack of.
if you study the situation of who the two witness rule applies to and why you will find it did not apply to everyone.
this again, is a rule for the 'special' chosen nation, lol, not everyone else on the outside, we do not have to follow by the laws of a people we do not belong to, God never said we did. Jesus never said we did.
someone on here has a pretty good explanation of that whole biblical situation comes from.

DOES BELIEF IN THE BIBLE DESTROY ONE'S INTELLECTUAL CAPACITY?
by TerryWalstrom inbased on information to be found at: http://www.csicop.org/si/show/when_dont_the_highly_educated_believe_in_evolution_the_bible_believers_effe/.
the bible-believers effect.
those who believe the bible is the word of god (bible believers) and those who dont believe the bible is the word of god (bible nonbelievers) differ in their beliefs that humans evolved from earlier species of animals.
-

lol, possibly, I sure feel a lot less intelligent...
and I don't believe any of it now.
never too old to learn? of course not, but it matters little.
I feel Im too old to gain any truly useful knowledge
to largely improve the years left of energy I have.
knowledge is simply a hobby in my life.
whats knowledge of anything going to do for me now? [except maybe the stock market, lol]
it wont add years to my life, nor make my life any easier.
maybe this is why some simply get by on what little they know. its too emotionally taxing.

Bible and Mentally Challenged, what does it say.
by James Mixon inspecial olympics today here in los angeles, the smiles on those kids faces.. i wonder how were they viewed in jesus day, demon possessed.. it's strange how the bible omit some issues, like slavery and mentally challenged.
folks.
thank god for humanitarian..

it says nothing, any one with an ailment in my opinion, from the viewpoint of ancient scripture was considered demonized.or sinful. id guess that was their explanation of a misunderstood illness. there seemed to be an awful lot of 'demon possessed' people back then. hmmm why not now?
[I wonder what bug bite or bacteria from contaminated water might have causes so many people to act crazy. maybe rabies?]
I have always strongly felt that mentally challenged persons should have never been required , expected or recommended to go door to door.
along with the frail mentally declining elderly and children
they cannot teach.
after all, the bible does say, not all of you will be teachers.
[ The last thing that would get me to follow a religion would be people with handicaps peddling magazines.]

JW Broadcasting is dying.
by John Aquila inonce a month about 15 to 20 elderly jw publishers would meet at the kingdom hall and one elder was assigned to set up the system so they could view jw broadcasting.
these publishers were long time pioneers, former elders, and long time publishers who know nothing about computers or the internet.
they are the last batch of those expecting the generation that saw 1914 or understood it--- to not die off.

wow, wow, and wow. omg, Im glad I want there Id have lost it, and someone would have had to drag me out of the building. self righteous fools those ones are who uttered those words.
It really makes me sick to hear how these people think that in order to have Gods favor, they need to view tv evangelism, hear talks, go door to door and make food.
these elderly people are so blind, you would think at that age they would see they do not need to follow men.
they have a bible, that's all they need.

Was It Designed? Rabies Purposeful Mode of Transmission.
by Island Man inwas it designed?.
rabies' purposeful mode of transmissionrabies is caused by a number of lyssaviruses that attack the cells of the nervous system disrupting their normal function.
symptoms include painful spasms in the muscles of the throat and larynx of patients, accompanied by a strong aversion to drinking liquids - hydrophobia.

I have the perfect answer to that, given to me by my lifetime pioneer aunt, years ago, and believed by my mother and who knows who else, lol
Satan, has creative powers.............
what scripture pray tell, would support that? none, but she 'reasoned' that it must be so, because satan is an all powerful angel with creative powers and God wouldn't create harmful creatures.
I guess it works for her.

A Tired Child is Better than a Dead Child
by snugglebunny inincredibly, fred franz once announced at a district convention: "yesterday a sister approached me and said, brother franz, why do we have to keep our children up so late just so they can attend the meetings?
i responded sister ***, would you rather have a tired child or a dead child?".
*cue rapturous applause*.

oh man, do I remember the days when my little brother was little, he was hyper active, and was on and off the chair through the whole meeting. then he would fall asleep, and my mom would be thrilled, lol she would take him down the the ladies room and beat the daylights out of him for not sitting still, as if he could! not after feeding us captain crunch for breakfast, lol, he was so wired! she was clueless about nutrition, we ate processed food all the time.I was always tired, irritable and bored to death at every meeting.
that kids sleeping on the floor is a common sight, you I remember the convention isles, blankets pillows, books, pencils, bags of snacks, sippy cups, lol, it was like a picnic
I remember when a couple I knew would leave the meeting halfway through because the kids had homework, and other people would criticize that.
well gee they might miss that SAME demonstration, about how to place a watchtower and awake
omg, how awful, lol or , omg they missed the announcements,
you would think that the watchtower would have taken children into consideration when making meeting times.
fat chance.
