by Faithful Witness ini am preparing for my meeting this friday with miss k. we are reviewing the bible teach book, and she is looking forward to "showing me some things about the divine name.
" i don't know what she might pull out of her hat this time... but that section of the teach book is so completely assanine, i don't even know what to say.

Need help understanding scriptues in Mathew. just trying to show my wife the BORG is soooo wrong
by goingthruthemotions inas you know i am still in but have no strong conviction for this cult..but i still go because my wife is still asleep to the false teachings.
for a few months now...when we have family study it is stricly from the bible.
which is great, while we study we are taking the bible as it is, i think it is opening her eyes and how important jesus is.

why Jehovah's witnesses? not yaweh witnesses?
by purrpurr inthis i never understood, the publications say that gods name translated from hebrew is yaweh.
why add a whole bunch of letters and vowels that change the sound of the name completely?
i've often thought surely we would gain greater respect on the ministry if we used a name that is historically and verbally accurate?.

"Jah" has long been the abbreviated form of Jehovah. As Yah is of Yahweh.

It's EASY to learn fallacy. When people teach their OPINIONS as to what GOD'S prophecies mean- that does NOT make them false prophets. Just very indiscreet...

Vander- those are THEIR opinions as to what GOD'S prophecies mean. YES, they DO glorify themselves- and will have to answer for it.
BrainFloss- thanks for your correction; ther has been ONE thing they taught that is umbiblical- your point @ the Mediator. Just as a note, Churchianity teaches he is no mediator at ALL, since he is 'God'. Jesus COMMANDED his followers to preach the good news, to help each other (as well as others), and TAUGHT them how to work together (organize), so we really MUST determine who are TRUE fellow christians being guided by spirit- and WORK with them!
AndShirley- the "Slave Class" nonsense is ANOTHER opinion of prophecy.
Opu- same thing.
Mouthy- opinions about GFOD'S prophecies don't make on a false prophet. That is standard church ignorance.

coffy- the biblical definition of "faith" is that it is based on "assurance". When one merly HOPES, they are not ASSURED.
Many facts cannot be seen with our eyes, and FACTS are the basis of my belief in the Bible, and the ones it tells us about.

Jesus and his God's holy spirit ENCOURAGES unity- and that is all those words mean- since we WOULDN'T be baptised if we thought this WASN'T the real Christian Brotherhood.
