for a few months now...when we have family study it is stricly from the bible.

which is great, while we study we are taking the bible as it is, i think it is opening her eyes and how important jesus is.

Vander- those are THEIR opinions as to what GOD'S prophecies mean. YES, they DO glorify themselves- and will have to answer for it.

BrainFloss- thanks for your correction; ther has been ONE thing they taught that is umbiblical- your point @ the Mediator. Just as a note, Churchianity teaches he is no mediator at ALL, since he is 'God'. Jesus COMMANDED his followers to preach the good news, to help each other (as well as others), and TAUGHT them how to work together (organize), so we really MUST determine who are TRUE fellow christians being guided by spirit- and WORK with them!

AndShirley- the "Slave Class" nonsense is ANOTHER opinion of prophecy.

Opu- same thing.

Mouthy- opinions about GFOD'S prophecies don't make on a false prophet. That is standard church ignorance.

coffy- the biblical definition of "faith" is that it is based on "assurance". When one merly HOPES, they are not ASSURED.

Many facts cannot be seen with our eyes, and FACTS are the basis of my belief in the Bible, and the ones it tells us about.

The WTBS is seperate.

why Jehovah's witnesses? not yaweh witnesses?

this i never understood, the publications say that gods name translated from hebrew is yaweh.

why add a whole bunch of letters and vowels that change the sound of the name completely?

i've often thought surely we would gain greater respect on the ministry if we used a name that is historically and verbally accurate?.

The WTBS teaches nothing unbiblical that I know of.

HOWEVER, it 1- Has some very goofy opinions (as it has always had) as to what some of the prophecies mean, and

2- Lacking details on how the first congregations were run, have established some rules that cause many problems, and often hurt others.

As EVERY one of us have many flaws, on Organization has many more.

Judge us JWs and the WTBS all you want, as you play Judge- but the Truth stands on it's own- and you will NOT find it in Churchianity....

Apostatea, and atheists, as well.

i am 46 and have been a jw for only 6 years.

i was doing ok until about a month ago.

we were having an international convention and i heard the brother that had to pick up 2 of the members of the governing body had to get a background check done on him and his wife.
