sometime ago i wrote here in this forum about the case of my sister, who decided to stop attending the meetings because she realised that the watchtower society is an evil organization.
this happened more than one year ago.
i am not living in the same country of my sister, so i learn about her case when she calls me or when she write me through whatsapp.
i've noticed increasing amounts of jw's are coming off fb and deactivating completely.
all with the same reason which they post about at lenght which is that they wwant to focus more on their spiritual life and not have the distraction of fb.. have i missed something or is this just a coincidence?.
it seems to me that the religion is nearly dead.
or dying.
very little pulse exists for the organization.
We live in a fairly rural part of the UK and to be honest since our fade I rarely see any door knocking just the same ones sitting around watching people ignore their trolleys.
JW's feel they're giving a huge witness when out in service but ive since come to realise how little thought people must give them (unless it's to make sure not to answer the door)
if you had to pinpoint the time or experience that finally made you open your eyes, what would it be?.
i think for me it was the time i saw my dad shun his brother who he had not seen in decades just because he was a da'ed jw.
i thought to my self "no way jesus would do that.
The UN NGO business opened the floodgates for me. I came across the NGO status purely by chance whilst reading comments on a cringy JW meme that a Facebook friend had posted. This was just over a year ago. Within a week or two i'd come across the wonderful resource that is JWN and watched dozens of videos by Cedars, Marc & Cora aswell as others and did endless research using the CD-ROMS to back up what I had read.
I finally read COC after finding a download and by August of last year my Wife and I decided to just stop everything JW.
40-50 years after saying "armegeddon is right around the corner" we are now making progress!!!.
gotta have a sense of humor to deal with this stuff..
i left in the 90's and marriage partners were similar in age at my former congregation.
i ran into a former jw friend from my childhood.
i haven't seen him in 15 years.
There's a couple in our no longer hall where an elder husband is a good 20 years older than the wife. Been married close to 20 years now aswell.
More recently a friend of mine from another hall, same age as me, around 29/30 has married a woman old enough to be his mum. They seem very happy. It's interesting to note though that she was dfd a few years ago for sleeping with a 21 year old from the same hall!
Also my wife is 3 years older than me, but that's just to make up for the higher life expentancy of women in the UK ;)
i wonder what the report to the branch would say.. he said " me, you and the wt organization is full of poop".. do we df him?
?.
the funniest i have seen since ages..... http://www.forevereating.com.
Anyone read the home page? Right at the bottom there's a calender with the title
'A week without Jehovah= Weak'
Sums up the kind of ass that put this site together.
this is a follow up to jehovah kicks a puppy about the garden of eden / serpent myth and the punishment for disobeying god.. anyone who has had kids knows that that they need to be taught what is right and what is wrong.
it's no point trying to discipline them if they have't learnt the rules first - they simply and fundamentally don't know something is wrong so punishing them in anyway is just asshole parenting of the worst kind.. i.e.
toddlers draw on the wall, that's what they do.
