I've been trying to wade through all two and a half hours of going clear. Thus far it seems to not criticize Scientology to much?
Thoughts? Opinions please? Is it worth watching?

i'm reading a very interesting book right now " why our children will be atheist ".
i've just started the beginning of the book but it starts off with a history of how religion developed through the ages of mankind.. one of the points it make is that religion was invented for two reasons 1) to alay fears about death and the future 2) to create a bond between other people.. i found this thought to be very interesting and i wonder if the need for those two components were removed from mankind would religion disappear too?.

this picture is in the new publication from this year's convention, titled "return to jehovah".
part 1the lost one i will search for.
personally, the animal looks scared of the shepherd.
Yes but what the WT never ever mentions is that the Shepard was not keeping sheep as pets but rather to take way their coat and eat!
Its a rather good analogy of what the GB want to do to the rank and file... Strip them of everything and then consume them!
i flew over this crate yesterday on my return home from las vegas.. .
they say this crater was created by an asteroid about 50,000 years ago.
then about 6000 years ago, presumably, god wiped out all life on earth with a global flood.. how much sediment would have been moved around during that flood.

I adore debunking the flood story!
Every ancient culture has some story of a flood probably because floods can happen and do happen everywhere. These days we know why this is but in the stone age or bronze age they made up stories to explain it.
For the sake ofargument though, if there really had been a global flood, which moved the continents/mountains/valleys to their current position ( as JW's claim) that would have destroyed every last land growing vegetation. The ground afterwards would be a wasteland of mud, sand and rocks. No seeds or bulbs would have survived and it is doubtful that the ground would be in a fit state to grow anything in.
In short there is no way that a olive tree could have survived for Noah's dove to pluck a sprig off!
i have recently been studying the myths and legends of other pre- jewish cultures.
such as babylonian, egyptian and greek.
these stories and beliefs are all pre dating the writing of the jewish torah and the new testament.
Magnum. I would recommend any books about the gods, myths and legends of the Egyptian, Babylonian, Greek and even Roman cultures. There are e books aplenty on the subject and most of them can be brought for pocket money prices.
In addition I recommend such forums and websites as thethinkingatheist.com
And also iron chariots.org

Blues brother, the answer to the jw retort that it all came from the same source etc is... The Egyptian, Babylonian and Greek legends have all been shown to pre date any written Jewish texts by centuries in some cases. From an archaeological viewpoint the Torah is very young.
So if "Jehovah" really wanted his law and name to be known then why did all these other ( far more advanced cultures) come up with the same ideas way in advance?
These other sources do not predate the creation of the first man ( as the bible would understand it) but they do pre date the time that the bible says man was created.

What I have discovered over and over again are not only similarities but whole concepts and tales that are almost identical to those found in the so called inspired word of god.
When you consider that the bible freely admits that the Jews were assimilated into both the Babylonian and Egyptian culture at points in their history it becomes easy to see were their ideas and stories came from.
In short the bible is a mid mash of flagrantly plagiarised stories and myths. It makes for very interesting reading as a course of study I highly recommend it. Its especially good reading material during the meetings! I mean reading on a tablet of course... Whose to know the difference?
wow!
i haven't been here for a while and everything's changed!.
anyway i've been really noticing how at every meeting it seems there's yet another new thing that needs funding or another reminder to donate.

Anyway I've been really noticing how at every meeting it seems there's yet another new thing that needs funding or another reminder to donate. It also seems that these moments when they ask for money are getting longer and longer and the language is getting more and more loaded? Before long they will be giving whole talks about needing money!
Whatdo you think? And do you know of any other jw's noticing/ commenting on this?
i overheard a comment recently at the meeting.
it was said how beautiful jehovah had made the earth and how awfull would the earth be if we didn't have the green plants and vegetation?.
but surely as an indigenous species of this planet we would always find our home beautiful?

But surely as an indigenous species of this planet we would always find our home beautiful? Even if earth had the same features as Mars or the moon? We would then find the rocky dusty red earth beautiful or the deep craters and grey postmarked surface beautiful?
Am I right or wrong?
