at our meeting last night there was a talk about having run out of magazines for the last three months.
it's expected this will continue to happen.
the "branch" has not sent the requested number of magazines.
Wow they are playing a dangerous game here surely? Essentially they are holding the congregation to Ransome - give us more money or you won't get any mags!
What happened to the faithful and discrete slave dispensing spiritual food at the proper time?
There are some congregations who are small and or poor, what are they going to do if they can't afford this demand?
what would happen if we started dropping fake check or bills inside the donation box of an assembly?
i know, is a crime, but so is pushing someone to not accept blood and die.
would it help skew the numbers enough if enough of us did it?.

The searcher, yes that was my thought too when I was forced to watch the film... How much has the WT got out of this vunrable woman?
I think she's about 99 now so there's no way she will leave dispite "the truth" having changed completely while she been in it.

I'm sorry to hear the daughter has been assimilated too, I noticed in the film it showed the daughter sitting on the lawn chatting with a group of friends and listening to the radio. Her mothers response to this is that she is worried about these friends of her daughters because they seem "rather fast" (!) Seriously? Chatting and listening to the radio?

Which is probably why all the dubs are so excited about it

even if you don't regard yourself as a practicing jw, some may view you simply as inactive, a lost sheep, etc.. if you were baptized but not disfellowshipped or disassociated, you may still be a jw---right?

if you cant put two and two together, (the bachelorette having sex before marriage and the fact that we are living in the last days) then youre just going to lose your life.

thats what i was told by two old jw ladies working the bus stop with their magazines.my question;.
I have noticed amongst the older jw's that they seem so prudish about sex that they almost can't bear to even acknowledge its existence. Its like they have classified it as demonic.
One elderly sis I know will only refer to sex as (whisper it -"it")
They seem to think shagging will bring about Armageddon all by itself

Ok so I watched all of it. It took me about 20;mins to get into it.
Very worth worth, so many parallels to the WT
One thing I didn't understand was at the end they said that membership of ST isgoing down while its money goes up and a strategy of ST is that they are buying up loads of real estate. I don't understand this? Why are they buying up loads of real estate?
BTW I do see the parallels between them and the WT in that regard too, but I don't understand why they are doing it?

i'm reading a very interesting book right now " why our children will be atheist ".
i've just started the beginning of the book but it starts off with a history of how religion developed through the ages of mankind.. one of the points it make is that religion was invented for two reasons 1) to alay fears about death and the future 2) to create a bond between other people.. i found this thought to be very interesting and i wonder if the need for those two components were removed from mankind would religion disappear too?.
