its been a long time since i've posted here, i've been caught up with school and work so i've never had the time to post on the forum, but i've still been reading through some articles on here.

now that finals are over i have some time to breath.

Its been a long time since I've posted here, I've been caught up with school and work so I've never had the time to post on the forum, but I've still been reading through some articles on here. Now that Finals are over I have some time to breath. But something happened last Sunday that I absolutely have to talk about. So here goes.

On Sunday a speaker from a congregation not far came to do the public talk.

This guy is a bethelite.

Basically he starts off the talk explaining how the WBTS came into existence. He went on to explain how Russell was first a minister in Pennsylvania, and eventually moved to Brooklyn in order to spread his sermon at a much higher frequency through a news paper article called the Watchtower.

He goes on to explain how the bible students were formed, etc...

Then he admitted on stage that Russell believed the Armageddon would come in 1914, and that he got it wrong. Armageddon didn't come. He then went on to explain how many of the bible students left the faith, and went on to form their own religions.

After he explained the Russell predicted Armageddon and that he got it wrong, I was stunned. I almost had a panic attack. I looked to my right to see the expression on my parent's faces; they had their normal expressions like nothing was wrong. I couldn't believe what was happening.

He continued with his talk and from the beginning to around 24 minutes in, he didn't read a single bible verse. He also talked about Rutherford's personality, and how he was a mean guy; along with all the differences and conflicts he had with Russell. He then brought a very old publication from the early 1900s with a quote from Rutherford criticizing patriotism, and explained how the government didn't like what he said and imprisoned him for 9 months.

At the end of his talk he encouraged all the young people in our hall to volunteer in bethel service, and to do more research on and cherish our (the organization's) "beautiful heritage". He then walked off the stage.

He didn't read a single bible verse during the entire talk. And he openly admitted the Jehovah's Witnesses predicted Armageddon.

I don't know what to think of this, but that man sowed many seeds of doubt that day.

it's hard enough for businesses to enter these areas the government once had to offer up tax breaks to service them.

in watts, california it took decades for city residents to get a grocery store after the thugs burned their businesses to the ground.

you can see the insanity taking place, when you allow mobs and fools to burn building down nothing good comes from it.

What the rioters in the street are doing is wrong, but at the same time people are frustrated that black lives do not matter in the eyes of law enforcement.

lately i've been very busy balancing between my school work and cult activities.

since i've been doing pretty well "spiritually"(enough field-circus hours, attending meetings, underlining my literatrash, reading, praying and serving as the mic-master) my coordinator grabbed me to the side after a meeting and talked to me for twenty minutes straight congratulating me about how good i am doing.. then he paused for a good five seconds and got all serious.. then he proceeded to tell me that the young ones in the hall aren't doing too well.

Thanks for the encouragement ToesUp, I'll continue to analyze my situation and see what I can do to at least fade.

I wish it was that easy sir82. I would do that in a heartbeat if I could, but I don't want to end up sleeping in the streets with only $142 in my bank account.

I have a feeling they'll try to promote me sooner or later. I'm most likely going to decline and give them some excuse as to why I do not think I am qualified.

Then he proceeded to tell me that the young ones in the hall aren't doing too well. He told me that me and my older brother are the pillars of the youth in the congregation.

Now, you might think the young people in my hall are just not really active in the organization(i.e the kids who never get dunked at assemblies, or just hate being witnesses, want to be being normal teenagers). But in reality a number of them are in some really deep s***. Some of them have been involved in some things that are so bad I can't even give details on what they've done on this forum. I'd be running the risk of giving my identity away. Lets just say some of their actions were similar to a that of a man named Jonathan Kendrick.

My congregation has such a bad rap in the circuit its not even funny. My BOE is probably the most looked down upon BOE in the history of jwdom.

If my parents or anyone in the hall knew that I no longer believed the WBTS is god's organization, it would hit like a nuke. They think my brother and I are the only hope for the young people in my age group. I feel like there is this unnecessary pressure thrown on my me, its so freaking annoying.

my after meeting ritual, is getting my suit off, and a beer in my hand....in less than 2 minutes from entering my door.

If its after a meeting where I have no assignments I'll have some milk n cereal as a snack or a glass of water.

If I gave a talk, watchtower/book study reading, or a part during the service meeting , I Binge on food like a mad man once I get home.

What was the longest Elder Meeting you have ever experienced?

a couple years back my hall had around 12 elders, and the body was literally divided into little factions of elders(gotta love jehovah's holy spirit !).

the branch sent 2 more elders to help resolve the issues between them, and that didn't help at all.. so when the circuit overseer visited, a meeting was held after the sunday meeting.

i waited in the hall by myself since the rest of my family was out of town for a certain family event.

So when the Circuit Overseer visited, a meeting was held after the Sunday meeting. I waited in the hall by myself since the rest of my family was out of town for a certain family event. I literally assisted 2 different meetings during my dads elder meeting. One in French and one in Spanish. Luckily I was friends with some people in the Spanish congregation, so I got to go out to eat with a family. I would've asked them to take me home, but I lived a 45 min drive from the hall I attended,thinking that the meeting would end by the time I returned, I asked them to bring me back.Once I returned to the hall the meeting was still going on, but this time you could hear yelling and a huge table-slapping noise. I was mortified and did not believe what was happening.

Couple hours later the meeting finally ended, and my Dad finally came out. Everyone including the Circuit Overseer looked tired, and their faces were sweaty. One of the elders looked like they were about to pass out. My Sunday meeting ended at 12:45 pm, and the elder meeting finished at around 9:30 at night. I was able to assist two meetings and go out to dinner! Once I returned it was still happening.

After that meeting 7 of the 12 elders were relieved of their positions.

Before I had woken up I had said that shunning relatives was good because it would encourage them to return.This was during a watchtower study. If I could go back in time I'd punch that version of me in the face lol.
