  hi all can you sort out a debate for me.. the scripture which talks about "the showy display of ones means of life" does this mean.

  a. you are not to show your privates?.

  b. you have not to be flash with your cash?.

  Surprise day/family day

  did you have the above instead of xmas?.

  we did as a family with about 16 going to it and giving gifts normally feb time.

  now though we have been banned from going as we had xmas this year and you can't have both it would seem.

  after being in the org for 20 years, being regular at every meeting.

  i must have sung the songs hundreds of times, but i cant sing the first line of any song off by heart..

  i asked my husband, kids if they could, they also cant.. can you?.

  I have came home from a funeral of a chap who passed away suddenly at 32. He hadn't been to the hall for years but he got a JW service.

  Is Wearing a Cross wrong?

  ever since leaving the org 10+ years ago, i have often wondered about wearing a cross and if it is wrong to do.

  i think the jw's see it as an idol, and i do know that the baptists actually pray to the cross because after i left the org, i became baptist for 2 years and they did pray to the big cross on the wall.

  i'm not sure i believe that praying to the cross is such a good thing to do, but is wearing one as a symbol of my belief wrong?

  Edge, I am aware of the non-beheading thing but some would say don't celebrate a guy that tried to blow up parliment. Not that I care now of course.

  I still can't see anything wrong with birthdays either but who am I to say so.

  Not sure if it is much use but I use WinMX which is very quick and has just about any artist you can think of.

  PS where is WSM? Being a Jock I am not good with English geography so apologies for that. I sometimes go to the office in Manchester is it far from there?

  My dad and his corn...why?

  i just awoke from a bad dream of my dad giving a sunday talk.... it got me to thinking about all the bad jokes he liked to put in his talk...and i wonder why he did that?

  I remember in the old days when you could do what you wanted with talks and my Dad was doing one on marriage and his illustration was on a 3 cord rope being stonger than a 2 cord. So I would get up with a bit of rope and the old boy would tug an end and I would tug an end. But this day the rope snapped sending me one way across the platform and my Dad the other way. I still laugh when I think of that one!!
