I was told this is becasue the governing body is getting ready to go to heaven and everyone else (elders, Circuit overseers, congragation overseers, ect.) would better be able to take care of the flock when they are gone. So they are preparing them now. Again, only reporting what I've been told.

New method of appointing Regular Pioneers!
by stuckinarut2 ina new arrangement for appointing regular pioneers has been announced.. in the past, a person would have to fill in a form from the society, this would have to be approved by the local elders, then this would be sent to the branch for final approval and appointment.. now it is just the local elders that approve it.
it doesn't need the branch approval any more.. they are selling it as a way to "speed up the process in order to be more effective in the ministry during these urgent times blah blah".

How much meaning are the rank and file putting on October 2014?
by JimmyPage init's definitely on their minds.
i attended a funeral recently and a jw told me that the person who died almost made it to the 100 year anniversary of the birth of the kingdom.. curious what comments like this you've heard in your area?.

Do the GB really belive this stuff themselves? How can people so confidently make statements about this "wicked system of things" ending in the next five years or so, and when it doesn't happen they don't think anything of it. As of now, IDK if it is the same in other halls, their are people are saying, "Not ONLY are we in the last days, Satan is in his final hours and the promised land is right on the horizon." People have been saying these things since 1960? This amazes me that the older ones don't know better by now.. Even though I understand that their belifes conquers better reasoning..

Like Button
by Coded Logic ini read through the suggestion box and haven't seen anyone recomend this yet: is it possilbe to add a "like" button for posts and comments?
maybe something that keeps count of them like on youtube.
i think it would be a great tool to let people know we appreciate their comments.. i know we have the thumbs up icon we can paste in our comments but its hard to "like" someones elses comment when the thread is already 30 comments deep.. (feel free to thumbs up if this is a feature you'd like to see).

People at my hall have been making a big deal about It. Especially this pioneer sister who was alive when they were preaching "Millions now will never die!" I remember her telling me a few months ago this system wouldn't even continue on ten years. Let alone one more..

I find it interesting that people with lower education levels are visiting the site more often than college students and people in graduate school..

So don't kill. isn't the watchtower like a preachers serom?
by LennaB inwouldn't the watchtower be just like a preachers sermon already written down for everyone world wide to read at the same time?
i'm not advocating the watchtower/awake (at this time) just trying to get a clear view on things as i make my departure from "the truth" and would like to get some educated/experienced takes on this..

That 'Resurrection' video is cultish and scary but it couldn't actually harm anyone. Could it?
by nicolaou inmy wife and i spent last evening, as so many did, concerned for the king family and their little boy ashya (bbc report).
it's clear that blood is not an issue in their decision to take ashya away from hospital and the vital medical attention that he needs.
the watchtower office of public information also denied "that their decision is in any way motivated by any religious convictions".. hmmm.

Great replies. I'm learning so much, I never knew about half this stuff. I guess this is another reason the governing body discourages higher education..

Thenks everyone once again for the love. I went to my Disfellowshipped cousin who I thought would have studied independently.. But I was a fool to do that... My husband is relieved to say the least. He always thought that everyone seemed fake anyway. I've burned almost all my bridges with my "worldly" friends so their is a lot of rebuilding to do. What about all the answered prayers and experiences in the yearbook/watchtower? Are they all fake?

My husband is not a JW, but I was so Zealous I made the both of us look like fools. I'm saying my life is ruined because AS OF NOW I have no hope for the future, angry at the way I was treted by some of the people in my cong (even though their were some great people), questioning id I can even trust the bible? If that doesn't ruin your life then what does? I'm just looking for encouragment from people who know about this place. As for the elder, he said that doubt isn't uncommon and not bad, but now he has something to do research on to strenghten his faith or something like that. He is really a down to earth guy. Only been an Elder fo two to three years and wasn't raised in the truth. His wife brought him in. To the people that think I'm lying, what would be the point????? Thanks for the support everyone. I really appreciate it. This is an open question to the people who were raised/spent five plus years in the truth, what happened? what were your experinces when you first found out?
