Do you remember when you first Googled "Jehovah's Witnesses"?
by Funchback ini remember when i first googled "jehovah's witnesses".
i was sick to my stomach because i feared that i was disobeying jehovah.
although i was scared that i would find something "apostate" or "demonic", i still continued to click on different links.

Segz- WELCOME!
It's only natural to feel like that at first. We've all been there, so we all understand what you're going through. I chose to hang around this site in particular because people here were generally happy and well-adjusted (and very friendly). I hope you'll have a similar, good, experience.
Next time you want to come into chat, if I'm there, I'll say hi to you. =)

Still Demonstrating/Prostesting at the KH and Support is Growing
by Corvin inwe laid low for a week from picketing the kingdom hall.
i wanted to see how things would go with the emergency hearing before i continued.
because of the pending restraining order sara applied for, i cannot go within 100 yards of her or her husband, mark.

(((((Corvin)))))
With all you're dealing with lately, it's no wonder you're upset. Best of luck to you, and best wishes to your daughter, hope she is feeling much better. I know it's hard, but even as you picket the hall, try not to let the smirky elders rile you- you're so much better than them.

In 1980, I knew Granny Tatum in Norfolk, VA (USA). She was in her 90's at that time, but was tough as nails and cool as hell. The funny thing is, after we left town, word got to us that her son had gone apostate, so who knows, maybe he's on this very site.

I was very fortunate, in that I was dating a fabulous "worldly" man at the time (3 years ago). We had discussed my faith at some length, and I admitted to him that I did not buy into all of its teachings. He encouraged me to do research on some stuff that I'd been dwelling on.
So, there we sat, late one night, in his house. It was, in a way, like losing one's virginity: some hesitation on my part, some gentle coaxing from him, music on, shades pulled...and I typed in "Jehovah's Witnesses 1975" on the search engine. To continue with the analogy, I was so scared and awkward the first time, but then it got to be fun, and now I'm really good at it! I like that better than equating my apostacy with drug use; seems healthier, somehow.

Pathological fears?
by Brummie inwhat do you fear the most?.
we were relocating a person who works with us to another place , turns out she had a pathological fear of dwarfs and since one worked there she came running back to us.... not sure i have any real pathological fears, however i remember having to get out of pitsburgh due to the high buildings, then i couldnt stay in new york when i saw the hight of the twin towers and other buildings, dont know if i was pathologically scared or just totally overwhelmed.. anyway, whats your fear?.

Germs. Some of my few peaceful moments during the day are when I'm washing my hands; I can easily see how some people become compulsive hand-washers. That such a simple act can calm me and comfort me so utterly, at least for a few minutes, never ceases to amaze me.

Ringfinger
Nine inch Nails
Well, you've got me working so hard lately.
Working my hands until they bleed.
If I was twice the man I could be, I'd still be half of what you need.
Still, you lead me, and I follow.
Anything you ask is what I'll do.
But this one act of consecration is what I ask of you.
Ringfinger- promise carved in stone, deeper than the sea.
Ringfinger- sever flesh and bone, and offer it to me.
You just leave me nailed here, hanging like Jesus on this cross.
I'll be dying for your sins, and aiding to the cause.
Ringfinger- promise carved in stone, deeper than the sea.
Ringfinger- sever flesh and bone, and offer it to me.
Wrap my eyes in bandages.
Confessions I see through.
I get everything I want, when I get part of you.
Ringfinger- promise carved in stone, deeper than the sea.
Ringfinger- devil's flesh and bone, do something for me.
I'm so tired I can't get to sleep.
And the squeaking of the bed is right in time with the song that's repeating in my head.
I just want you to know, when I do it, I only think of you.

by LyinEyes ini am reading the anne rice novel " the vampire lestat", and it is quiet an interesting read.

Wow, this really takes me back. When I was a gloomy, tormented teen with an all-black wardrobe, I read these books several times each. Interview with the Vampire was my fave, followed by The Vampire Lestat. Anne Rice has a fine eye for detail, and a deft way of describing utter loneliness and despair (did I mention, I was a teenager when I got into her stuff? No wonder it appealed to me.).
If you enjoy this book, there was another one called A Feast of all Saints, set in New Orleans in the 1800's. It's nothing to do with vampires, but still it's her best work I've read. She has also written under the last names Rampling and Roquelarre (sp?), some rather sexy stuff.

I think your last two paragraphs said it all. So, we're all crows here, huh? I like that idea. Thanks for sharing this info.
