  I know I'm going to take heat for this, but here goes:

  People like to say "he needs therapy" all the time about people like Michael Jackson. And while therapy is a great help to some people, it seems a waste of time for pedophiles. Why bother treating them, when they're not sick, they're just plain EVIL? He's a grown man who knew full well what he was doing, that it was wrong, and that it would hurt these kids now, and for the rest of their lives- because you never ever get over being molested.

  When I've got cockroaches in my house, I don't worry myself trying to rehabilitate them, retrain them, or discover the motivations for their behavior- I get some spray and I f%*king obliterate the nasty beasts before they make my family sick. It works on roaches, it would work even better on child molesters.

  What is Paganism?

  i personally think it's a pantry that pretty much every non-christian belief system gets tossed into.

  there are so many perceptions of paganism, and although i pretty much want to open this discussion to those who label themselves as such, anyone's thoughts are welcome.

  this topic can become a can of worms, hopefully it won't denigrate to that.. thoughts?.

  I don't think I can add much to Gretchen's definition of Pagan. That's pretty much the way I'd describe my own brand of spirituality, as well. A common misperception is that we all worship a goddess; in actuality, I worship "The Divine" in both its feminine and masculine aspects. At times, I pray to Him, while other times I pray to Her, but it's the same person- someone too infinitely complex to be confined to just one gender. I don't worship Satan, as I don't believe he exists.

  I guess the one defining tenet of my personal faith is that I don't have all the answers; for that matter, who among us does? Therefore, getting into arguments (or wars) over religion is madness. I worship as seems best to me, but it's not the "correct"path for everyone- neither is Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, or any one religion. We each need to find our own spiritual path, and try not to judge others whose spirituality differs from our own; I speak from experience, as my partner is a Lutheran.

  And peacefulpete- I'm actually really likeable, once you get to know me!

  Are boxer briefs gay???

  i was just watching a sit-com and someone made a reference to boxer briefs as being a sign a guy is gay.

  i like boxer briefs!

  they are the best of both worlds... a combination of boxers and briefs.

  As far as I'm concerned, it's all good. I mean, if I've got my fella's pants round his ankles, trust me, I'm past caring what type of undies he's wearing!. I can't for the life of me see how a man's undergarment might reflect on his sexual persuasion, though.

  Tough day -- my mom died today

  poor thing, she's had alzheimer's for about 10 years and the last year she's been on hospice care because she's been so close to death.

  the past few months she's been slowly filling up with water -- they gave her lasix (not sure of the spelling) to relieve the edema and it worked, sort of.

  last weekend she actually looked a little better.

  Dude, Nine Inch Nails is one of the three best bands of all time, along with Rasputina and the Pogues. It's good to hear Trent's coming out with a new disc for me to obsess over. Hope it's on par with his other stuff, and that someday I'll get to see them perform live.

  as i told kl, i'm not sabotaging her thread, mine has a twist, for example, my wife 'descibes' me best by always reminding that i'm not 'normal.

  ' this means i do things differently than the ordinary person as i'm into many activities.

  many of these activities involve people.

  Little Toe, gosh don't be sorry! I'm trying to get past that feeling, and a big part of that is experiencing the fact that not all touch is bad. I guess in time, enough friendly hugs will help to smother memories of bad stuff that's happened in the past, so really, don't apologize for treating me like another human being.

  I'm really, really shy. At parties, someone always tries to get me out of my shell, but honestly, I do prefer to sit back and watch everybody else.

  I had a very deprived childhood. As a result, I'm now selfish to the core. Wish it wasn't so, but there it is.

  For some reason, I hate being touched, and it takes a conscious effort on my part to not pull away when someone shakes my hand or (shudder) hugs me. Fortunately, this feeling does not extend to my man- I spend as much time as possible within his arms.

  Even though I come across as a cold fish, I have a lot of love in my heart. I would sacrifice anything for the people I care about, even if they don't realize it.

  Are you married or single? = Single, but I got me a man 'way cross town, and he's good to me.

  Do you have children ? = Eeeeek! No kids, never!

  Do you have pets? = Well, duh- I'm a 36 yr. old spinster, of course I have a cat!

  What are your hobbies? = Calligraphy, writing, making weird little art things out of beads and found objects.
