last night my older son, (now 20) decided to smoke a cigarette in front of active witnesses.

of course they will be obliged to report this at once to the elders, who will question him about it.

i knew something big was coming as i overheard him say to my wife the other day ?your not mad at me because of anything i did, you?re just mad at me because i?m an atheist?.

i have been writing some stuff about my jw-life to friends, and i have elton john - canddle in the wind on ... and okay i am feeling a bit mooshy and sobby-ish

so, i just ran downstairs, and on my last step of the stairs, i looked into my living room, which was entirely dark, except for my christmas tree.

and it just struck me, it is so darned beautiful.

my brother is probably just now arriving in fl to be with our mother.

he is her youngest child and only son.

she has been a very firm and faithful jw since 1958, and is scheduled for open heart surgery this week and she requested that he fly down to be with her.
