Im in the national newspapers today!
by katiekitten inmy partner successfully sued gloucestershire constabulary yesterday.
we got our day in court, and today we are on the front page of the daily mail and the gloucester citizen, and we are in several other nationals and locals, my partner's been interviewed by sky news and the bbc.. we finally got them to listen to us after ignoring our letters and phone calls for months.

What's the most "personal" information an elder ever ask you?
by JH inonce an elder asked me if i had any problems with masturbation?
i told him, no !!!!

personal? hell ya!!
I had 3 grown men ask me if I had my nipple(s) pierced .....I denied it to the bitter end and prayed that they did not ask to see it/them....Then they asked me if I had a privates pierced.....being 14 or 15, I was horrified ......
A few in my congo heard these rumors at school and went running to the head honchos about there hearings...I was not going to give them the satifaction of any of it, and started blurtting alot of things that I was being done in my congo by grown adults...things went from bad to worse for 2 of the 3 the dubs questioning me....
they dropped the questioning of my piercings very quickly lets just say....

If You Were Raised In "The Truth" Did This Happen to You?
by XJW4EVR inlast night i was reminiscing about my teenage years, and this came up.. in the congregation i was raised in there were a number of contractors.
i knew that college was out of the question, and i didn't want to run the family busines (though i ended up running it for a time).
so i asked a number of these elder contractors if they were willing to appentice me in their trades.

I would not say it happened just with the JW's in my case.
I lived in a small town and there was always competition for jobs. Especially when it came to summer employment for the students...sometimes it was a any "Joe-Blow" cutting your throat just to get a job.

IF....
by Khrysanthemum inif you could choose just one person to free from this religion, who would it be and why?.
i would choose my mom.
my dad is also a witness, but i think he just stays in for my moms sake.

It would be my nana...she is the only die-hard left in my family...Just breaks my heart to think that she is waiting for this "new system" so she can be with pop's again....
When I go, I want her to be at the pearly gates waiting for me with pop's so I can finally say,
"I told ya so"!.... " I did not have to be a dub to be with ya's"!

So the school calls me to ask if Zach is home sick...panic sets in...
by FreedomFrog ini sent him off to school this morning and i didn't walk all the way down where i normally do because he's 8 and gets a tad embarrassed that his mom still walks down with him.
so for the most part, i sit on my steps at my appartment trying to listen if i hear him scream.
well, i just watched "without a trace" were a child missed her bus and she was kidnapped and at the end of the story they found her dead.

I am glad to hear everything went well for you. It is a rather scary thing to get a call like that when, you know in your head, you did sent him off....It has happend to me a few times...
For the poster, that had a child that dropped out of school and you did not know, that is Despicable!!!!... They should have a different system where you are living....I would have gone off the deep-end over that one..
I have 2 boys in High school. One is grade 9 the other in his final year of grade 12. If they are not in any class of the day, I get a phone call right home and if I dont answer it, they call dirrectly to my cell or my husbands cell saying they are not in class.
The boys call it a "rat line" but, I feel more comfortable knowing that the school is doing there job. Shortly though, my oldest will be 18 and will be able to write his own
skipnotes for class if he decided not to go or something comes up. I am not too keen on that but, I guess sometimes, we have to trust them and let them spead their wings at some point...You have a few more years before you have to worry about that one..

We lost a family member today...
by morty inwhat a sad day for our family today.. also, i would like to mention that the men that killed him, did have the guts to come and tell us.
( at 6:00am this morning) a lot of people wouldn?t do that so, this is one thing i thanked him for.
he did feel awful and had more tears then i did when i picked him up and wrapped him in his bedding.. any ways............................ i called the vet to find out how much it would be for a cremation and they want $160.00 bucks!!
