  the october 2003 christianity today has an article entitled "competing claims about islam...is it a religion of peace or of violence?

  " selected quotes (no link available):sometimes the religion is shown as violent, promoting jihad (holy war), and providing theological justification for acts of terrorism.

  at other times, especially when american adherents to islam are represented, the religion is described as one of peace.. "either view of islam can be demonstrated by just picking certain verses in the qu'ran and certain illustrations from history," fuller seminary professor dudley woodberry says.

  i discovered this site today, and had some fun with it typing in the real names, then the aliases of posters here.

  e-man posted a similar thread a month or so ago, but this is a lot more fun, as long as your name or phrase is not too "exclusive"

  divorce lawyers make thousands of dollars every year handling the breakups of over 50% of all the marriages in this country.

  children end up being pulled in both ways during drawn-out legal custody battles.

  aside from money issues, another big reason people file for divorce is infidelity.

  For guys like me...I'm incredibly faithful.

  I'm still looking for the right one, but if I'm in a relationship, she's the only one.

  Marriage is for hopeless, mushy romantics like me who fall in love with the wit, mind and heart and look at the beauty as a bonus.

  I've been married before. She left. I didn't give up on it until literally the last minute.

  Don't get married unless you feel the same way.

  oddly enough, i still feel ashamed that this happened to me, although i understand it wasn't my fault.

  the story begins in the late seventies, and i was about twelve years old...... i lived in a very small town in the midwest.

  It's pretty familiar too. This is literature we're supposed to share, right?

  Do they think that some will only look at the parts we show them? What are we supposed to say if they notice what the society puts in there?

  For that matter, if all material from the FDS is inspired (To paraphrase the letter to Timothy), why are we told not to share the reasoning book with studies and the Flock book with the flock itself?

  Knowledge is power...They don't want you to have any.

  Seen any good movies lately?

  the husband and i went to see "house of the dead" the other night, and 30 minutes into it we had to leave because it was so horrible.

  rarely have i seen such bad acting outside of a highschool drama performance, and i have never left during a movie.. thing is, i love going to the movies, so it was a major disappointment.
