I don't agree there either. I raised three girls. The youngest is 14 now. Kids dare you. They do all kinds of weird things which someone might interpret as sexual. That's why they're kids. What you do is you take them aside and talk; not get sexually involved.
Damn. This pisses me off when people say that the child wanted it just as bad. I say castrate the bastard and then give him back his privileges. He deserves it. He saw only his own and did not care at all about the well being of the child.

How someone could consider an 8 year old of age to consent to a sexual relationship is beyond my comprehension. I have a very mature 8 year old but she is in no way, shape or form ready to become involved with anyone sexually...geez she thinks kissing is gross still, thank god!

I believe though that someone did bring up the point in the thread about a 5 year old getting baptised (though the jury is still out on whether or not that is a JW urban myth or not) that getting baptised at such an early age is on par with making a decision regarding marrage...actually more of a life altering decision if you ask a dub. Perhaps this might be a good point to use when discussing children like this getting baptised with a JW...how some might then view them as mature enough to make other decisions for themselves...

Interesting the loophole used in not reporting this to the proper authorities...you would think they would have a MORAL responsibility to this child if nothing else wouldn't you?

The dirtbag who wrote to Bill says that the WTS is not a "pedophile paradise" because he was disfellowshipped for having a sexual relationship with an 8 year old girl.

The elders did not feel they had a moral obligation to report this STATUTORY RAPE to the police, and the twisted perp rationalizes the behavior as "consentual," explaining that if an 8 year old can be baptized, well...

Did the elders tell the girl's parents? My guess is that they did not, because unbelievers don't deserve the glorious association with "men of truth"(tm), do they?

I sincerely hope this letter is a hoax intended to rile Bill Bowen. If it is true, it is actually a scathing confirmation that the WTS continues to be a pedophile paradise. Disfellowshipping a pedophile does not forbid him attending meetings - indeed, he is encouraged to attend meetings to show his repentance. The semi-intelligent pedophile will learn to keep his mouth shut in the future and to study the bible with as many "consenting" 8 year old girls as possible.
